Update. Took bike to LBS and the owner suggested I just keep using the back tire I have and trade out in spring when I want to hit pavement again. I'm comfortable with that. I'd get the bike checked before going outdoors again anyway. Gave me a chance to see what road bikes he has and discuss that, which was nice.
