My first 5k will be on Sept 21st: Holliston Mission Possible 5k http://www.missionpossibleholliston.com/index.html My second (!!) 5k will be on October 18th: Kayla's Beat Goes on 5k http://www.kaylasbeatgoeson.org/kb/participants/participantpage.asp?fundid=17&walkername=Devon%20Grilly&uid=29&role=5 I figure the one in september will set a base line and I can make sure that I'm able to finish it in a reasonable time. The one in october is the one I'll tell all my friends about since I want to help raise money for the cardiovascular center at the local hospital. mta: oops just saw the format more clearly. the list!! I've registered as a walker for the 5K but am training to hopefully run part of it. This will be my first road race ever (I mean- who pays to go run?) Though I have run in relay races (especially for the throwers) when I was on the track team in high school & college. Who else is prepping for races?

Woods Lady:  I'll be running the 5K at the Gold Rush Run in Gold Hill, Oregon on June 6, 2009

Today, I graduated to week 5 C25K .   Looking forward to day 3 is frightening, but will do lots of repeats.

Week 5 was my favorite.  Days one and two felt easy enough to really build my confidence going into that twenty minute run, and then there's that huge boost after you DO actually complete it.   Good luck!

Hi Iron, and thank you!   I love your skunk story - that would be enough to light a fire under of any of us!

Your trail run on Sat. sounds like a lot of fun.  I do most of my runnning in the woods - our trail, and a Forest Service Road next to us.  One day right in front of me was an elk rack.  It was pretty heavy, but I hauled the thing home.  My DH didn't want it on the mantel, but it seemed like a  neat momento to me.

I have a run on Sat. also.  It is a 5K in Gold Hill, OR.   Very small town, and small race.  There is a 10K too and my DD3, who is doing the Half Marathon, wants me to walk it to get use to the length.  It is tempting, but-------.   My DD 1 , who is also doing C25K on week 5 will be with us.

                                Woods Lady
