My DW just sent this to me. http://www.9news.com/news/article.aspx?storyid=87650 Guess I need to re-evaluate what I thought my limits were.

That story doesn't do Danelle's story justice. She is an amazing athlete and survived quite an ordeal. Her dog, Taz, is also quite the hero!

I remember that story! Sure "checks" your perspective!

I believe there was an article on her and Taz in Runner's World a couple of months back. Here is another one that will make you stop whining and pull your pants up.....here is an article about 101 year old Buster Martin who is training for the London Marathon - http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080305/lf_nm_life/britain_marathon_dc%3B_ylt%3DAgOEj6A0jVEif7gssvMbBMsDW7oF He just completed a half marathon not long ago. Go Buster!!

Yeah I have run in the same races as Danielle. It would not be accurate to say I ran against her even though we were in the same event. I think to run against someone you need to finish within the same time zone. Smile She is truly an amazing athlete. I think she ranks up there with endurance gods like Matt Carpenter, Scott Jurek and now Anton. Her accident was certainly sobering. I run by myself all of the time. I think the scary thing for me wasn't that she was running by herself but that she was just doing a short 'routine' run. I always go out prepared for my long solo runs (tell people where I am going, bring extra food, and clothes) its those weekly short runs I don't usually do those things. Things to think about. I also wonder if my dogs would do the same thing???

I wonder if they have that listed in the obedience classes at PetsMart. Wink
