Apparently Hoptober this year will be a red beer with el dorado hops.

In hand, in the fridge. Soon to be in the belly...

      One of the review comments...

Overall, a very fine DIPA! A little too dank and resiny and sweet to be rated higher for me.

Dude, resiny is where it's at.

      Resiny...?

Sweet...hmmm...the one thing I don't like in an IPA is sweet (I generally don't like sweet in any non-lambic beer).  Still sounds worth trying, though...and now I maybe can!

She was not strong. She was valiant. Radiant. Brave and broken. The beauty she discovered in the aftermath was unparalleled to anything she had known before, because it had come at such a cost.

Resin is that oily, piny character that imparts a brutally sharp bitter backbone. Not. Sweet. Smile

          Speaking of resin...

There is some big resinous nose over a slightly reddish brown body with a knife sharp refreshing tongue in there.

I will be in the Carolinas early November and fear that it may be too late.  Can you put one aside for me?

              Nope.

              Cuz. Already have.

Broke out a bottle of this over the weekend.  Everyone that tried it liked it.  I wouldn't call it all that sour though, more like a Belgian with a slight twang.

Most folks I know thought it meh.

I could see that if they were looking to drink a nice sour.  It ain't that sour.  I have one other bottle of it and was going to age it then read this...

While that seems to indicate that aging will not help much I still will wait.

My impression was that it was a decent tasting Belgian, certainly nothing that I would pour down the drain, but if I want a wild ale I would drink something else.
