100 Push Up Challenge (Read 597 times)

    Good luck ausmusj1.  For me the hardest part is keeping the motivation.  I did some pushups last night after falling off the wagon again.  I didn't do that many and I hurt today.  If you don't keep up with several times a week you lose it quickly.

      I know what you mean - I've been having a hard time convincing myself to go to bed early enough to be able to wake up early enough to get my morning workout in, so I've not been consistent in staying on the wagon. However, I'm determined to make it through, so I just need to give myself a good kick and make it happen... Smile

      2014 goals:

        Okay, started this one this week.  Doing this in conjunction with the 20 pushups, and may start the one for dips as well, but not yet.

         

        Initial Test - 25

        Week 3 Day 1 - (12-17-13-13-30=85 total) must have been tired on the initial test if I could get out 30 here

        Week 3 Day 2 - (14-19-14-14-35=96 total)

        Week 3 Day 3 - (16-21-15-15-40=107 total)

         

        Week 4 Day 1 - (18-22-16-16-35=107 total)

        Week 4 Day 2 - (20-25-20-20-40=125 total)

         

        I hit the crapper this week as far as working out/bodyweight exercises so I decided to do another max test and start wherever it put me.  It turned out to be a pretty decent test.  Stepped back to Week 4 Day 1, but at the higher level.

         

        Second Test - 50

        Week 4 Day 1 - (21-25-21-21-33=121 total) - performed 1/28/13

        Week 4 Day 2 - (25-29-25-25-41=145 total) - performed 1/30/13

        Week 4 Day 3 - (29-33-29-29-41=161 total) - performed 2/1/13

        Third Test - 66

        Week 5 Day 1 - (36-40-30-24-41=171 total) - performed 2/6/13

        Week 5 Day 2 - (19-19-22-22-18-18-22-25=165 total) - performed 2/8/13 FAILED

        Week 5 Day 2 - (19-19-22-22-18-18-22-45=185 total) - performed 2/18/13

        Week 5 Day 3 - (20-20-24-24-20-20-22-52=202 total) - performed 2/21/13

        Fourth Test - 84

            Okay, I bailed on the burpees.  I tried one and the crunch motion of pulling my feet back up was too much like a crunch and did not feel good on my strained abdominal muscle.

             

            to that end, I've had a crappy week this week - havent done any bodyweight exercise at all.  Work has been way to stressful and way too long every day and I just havent had it in me when I get home at 8:00 every night.  But, I'm going to start again today.  Going to try to do alternating days of pushups/squats and pullups/dips and see how I do with that.

              Okay, again, trying to get back on the wagon here too.  I just finished week 5.  Was barely able to get that max number on the last set, but I got it.  So I'll do another test today or tomorrow and see where I ended up.
