All right, Grandmas runners, it's time to taper. Which means I have too much time on my hands. Which means I'm starting to obsess. Awesome.
This is my first Grandmas and I'm wondering how you veterans would describe the course. I've drive on Highway 61 a million times but never run on it. Driving it feels flat as a pancake, but I'm sure it feels much different running. Gently rolling, perhaps? Any other major climbs besides Lemon Drop? What else should this Grandmas rookie know?
Only 26.2 miles more to go.
Good Bad & The Monkey
Gently rolling, not flat at all. 18 miles out on the old highway, then you come into the neighborhoods. From mile 23 or so, you are essentially in the city. Last mile does go on forever.
Taper? Oops. I forgot to train...
I'm running somewhere tomorrow. It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait.
Poor baby
I'm right there with you. It's been an interesting spring to say the least. Funny how great you feel going into taper when your mileage is anemic.
