OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon (Read 572 times)

Feeling the growl again

Ran the 500 Festival Training Series 5K last weekend.  Did it in 18:51.  My Garmin and the official time were the same and distance matched up as well... that's unusual.  According to McMillan's Calculator that would put me right at 1:27:00 for the Mini which is my targeted time.  Starting to bump up my miles.  How's everyone else doing with their training?

If your 5K is predicting your goal HM time now, you are in good shape with further training to execute on the goal in a couple months.

My training is going ok.  I've gotten a good number of 90+ mile weeks in, though I have no excuse for slacking this week.  I ran the 5K last weekend too in 16:17/18 depending what number I take.  That's already got me under my HM goal by prediction, but my HM is only a month out and I suck at 5Ks so I think I can go faster.

I don't know if I am running the Mini yet.  If I rip a good HM next month (sub-1:12) I may try to sway the RD.

Good run Bill. Ran the Polar 3 and 5 this morning. Plannned to race both but paced someone on the 5. Ran the 3 in 18:08. Fastest race evah and with no speed work yet. Time to get serious now.

Both were down at Market Street Complex. KLA event. Pretty cool. Flat courses.

Well, I'm officially back at it...I'm also officially over 190lbs. At least it isn't hard to identify things I need to work on. I'll decide soon on my first race of the season. Maybe the Bloomington Mini.

            Feeling the growl again

It should be the Mini Training Series 10K, so we can finally meet, since you dodge us on Eagle Creek runs....

I need a new 10k PR so I guess I'm in as well.

Sounds painful...I might be in. I might also be shotgun-eloping that day. We'll see. Priorities, ya know.

Does it say something about one of us that I can't tell if you are serious? Wink

Can't you do both? Prioroties man. Race then shotgun wedding.

I'm not sure what it says about us...although I am also pretty sure it makes some sort of statement. Nonetheless, I'm serious.

                           +1.

Yeah, I kinda thought you were serious.  Good luck.  If you don't show at least I won't give you crap about this excuse.

I have run races with grooms on their wedding morning though...

Candice and Ben (couple of RA types) raced a HM on their wedding day and in race outfits looking like bride and groom.

The DINO race at Eagle Creek would be a convenient one it looks like. Despite living across the street, I've somehow failed to ever have run a race there.

Same weekend as Tom King in Nashville where I get front row seats (albeit after the fact) to watch an epic fast guy duel.
