Since many of you enjoy Slow Burn you might like this. Several mentions of his work with Dr. Phil on shoes. Very interesting and thoughts I have not had regarding shoes.
Enjoy

Thanks C-R,
I just checked my shoes and, based on Stu's video, I was pleased that I selected the correct size. I have always liked having a little extra room in my shoes anyway. I have always found that for running shoes, I have to go up almost a whole size beyond what I am measured for before it feels right.
Someone once told me something else. They said that your feet actually expand when you run very long distances. I did not know if he meant that they swell, or what.

my running shoes are about 2 sizes bigger than other shoes....
Thanks, Norm.
I've been following that advice
since I read his book years back.
Dr. Phil's book Fixing Your Feet
is a good read if you can find it.

Jimmy (or others),
Was there any mention regarding shoe width. If the feet expand, it wouldn't just be longer. I've read Dr. Phil's book but that was so long back I can't recall much. Time to go the library again.

There are two similarly named books. Fixing Your Feet, Fix with 'ing' suffix, is by John Vonhof instead of Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil's book is 'Fix' without the 'ing' suffix. I have not read this book by Dr. Phil, but John's book is a good read also.

Thanks.
Ran a half yesterday. With 0.1 mile to go corn start to hurt. Had to limp in. Later in the day I discovery it was not a corn but the little toe was tender from hitting front of the shoe . Will be buying a larger size for long runs
Run until the trail runs out.
