how often? (Read 35 times)

Second week of maf training.  Pretty much 12+ minute miles.  Coming from run/walk marathon training.  Last one took 4:45.  I'd like to improve that.

My question is how many days a week for running?  Galloway used maybe 4 days/ week, but I feel so good after running w/ mad that I'm upping that. Any suggestions?

    Consistently Slow

I normally do 5 days a week when marathon training. What is your weekly mileage?

Run until the trail runs out.

I guess I don't know for sure, I've been going by time.  Probably about 25-30 right now.  I've also gone 5 days a week using maf.  I just love how I feel like I should go for a run right after I go for a run.

I live in in eastern North Dakota,  very flat and the roads are mostly gravel/dirt.  I love it.  The roads are also in a mile by mile grid, so it's hard to not know how long each mile takes.  Between 12 and 13 minutes every mile.  Slow, but very comfortable and easy.

I used a marathon walkers training schedule for the last marathon.  It only had a schedule for ramping up weekend long runs, and I ran as I felt during the week.  I ran three times over 5 hours in the six weeks prior to the last marathon. The marathon itself felt great.  I had just read a Stu Mittleman book and took it easy on all my running portions during the race. It went well, never tired for the first time ever in a marathon.

I thought i may may be decently aerobic ally trained before I started maf training, but I guess not.  I've signed up for a marathon in Sundance Wyoming in September.  I thought I'd use the same schedule for training, but use maf training.

          Thoughts?

I just used this framework and ran little during the weeks.

i think 5 days a week using maf will work fine with this framework.

The schedule looks to light weight.

I changed the 22 miler to 20. New school. Stop at mile 20.
