Hi I am a 28 age graduate student.

Just bought a Garmin heart rate monitor with Motoactv.

The heart rate test is way to high .

Need to start over the training plan again.

Looks like you just need to slow it down a little and build your base.

What are you using to get the steps per minute number?  Foot pod?

      Age: 45 Weight: 208 Height: 6'2" (Goal weight 195)

      Current PR's:  Mara 3:48:09; HM 1:43:26; 10K 44:51; 5K 21:27

you are running a little over a minute per mile slower then your 3 mile race as an every day (I assume) easy pace. That would be marathon pace territory for me and far from what I would want to run everyday.

The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

        2014 Goals:

        Stay healthy

        Enjoy life

Yes. I try to slow down the pace and maintain the heart rate below 160.

              I finish a 3miles race last month in 21:07.

And I guess 9mins/m is the easy pace I can follow.

Maff HR 180-28(age)=152. Did you do a maff  test?

Slow down the pace. Built a base. Run or walk more days. A 2 mile run twice a week will give you a 30% increase for the month.

I noticed you did 2 runs the week of the race at  close to 10k pace. Cry It takes about 5 days to recover from a hard run. Newbies are so refreshingSmile.

Run until the trail runs out.
