Jimmy,
Do you take the shots in the arm or buttocks?
Jimmy, Do you take the shots in the arm or buttocks?
I shout "clear." Then it's half a shot on each side of the spare tire.
Hopefully, no spare tire gunk shoots (liquid Twinkie) in anyone's eye.

Beating me by .2 lbs, JD. Then again, I don't have one of those newfangled
scales with that new technology I think they call "digital." Mine just has
a red pointer that points to little lines between large numbers. An upgrade
from my last rudimentary scale of sitting on one side of a teeter totter while
my wife sat on the other side holding 1 lb. bags of kiwi.
Keep going!

I had an interesting week. I ran a 5k last Monday. The days following the race, I ended
up eating more fat and protein than I have beed doing. Letting my carbs fall way
below 50% of calories. By Thursday, I was getting bitchy, and completely famished.
My runs on Thursday and Friday weren't my best. Typical glycogen depletion.
I spent the weekend tanking up on carbs and fluids. Finally, by Sunday afternoon
I felt satiated. I had a good heart time recovery run and yoga/strength workout
at the end of the day. I have to stick to that 55% carbs, or I pay for it. Especially
after a hard race.
Go Celtics!
Monday weigh in, one day late (Week 5)
177.2lbs (start 184.8 lbs)
Down 0.6 this week. Missed a swim workout (again!), but got the running and cycling in. Ran a 5k for my anaerobic work for the week, rode the bike for 32 miles on Sunday, my longest ride yet, and I think I found my happy place during my open water swim on Thursday.
Time to refocus for the week, get my diet under control, and resist drinking in excess during the events throughout Philly Beer Week...
06-07-10
Ran twice last week
weight--201
Jimmy- If you are like my house hold, only one bitchy person at a time. Glad you feel better.
jdazzle- nothing wrong with a little beer and time out from the diet.....unless it continues for a year.

Is there solice in not gaining with minimal running? Does yardwork count as low hr training?
I have noticed less back fat. I think I am still trading fat for muscle, but I am not so good at keeping measurable stats.
My ultra goal is on hold for now until the 5 month old starts sleeping through the night..along with the two toddlers sleeping past 6:30!! At least the baby carrier strap on (Bjorn) is giving me a back and leg strength work out.
