Need advice on recovery schedule (Read 206 times)

Now that I finished my marathon last week, I am oficially in "recovery" mode. What makes it difficult is that I don't yet know my next marathon. Possibly early May, possibly mid-June, and possibly mid-August. I won't know until next month, when I find out which high school my son is going to and the summer school schedule. I know there are recovery schedules out there, and Hal Higdon has one that I like with only 4 days of running per week. But I don't want to lose my distance. Any one have some advice on how to stay prepared for the next marathon without overdoing it? I was thinking of maybe a buildup to 20 miles every 3 weeks?
Next up: A 50k in ? Done: California-Oregon-Arizona-Nevada (x2)-Wisconsin-Wyoming-Utah-Michigan-Colorado

If you like Higdon, he's got some to say about recovery at
