Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly!!!

HermosaBoy - I heard it was hot this year.
Thank you Holly! Hermosaboy, I'm sure you ran a great race, sub-2:43 is a very steep goal, everything needs to be perfect, including the weather.

As promised, we had 92 degrees on Monday and 95 on Tuesday. I ran in Central Park on both days in the afternoon, but only for an hour. Strangely, there were very few runners in the park on both occasions. On Saturday I ran on trails in torrential rain, the trails immediately got flooded and I ended up averaging 14min/mile pace or so.
It was -- especially for me. I don't handle heat/humidity well.
Oh well, I am not going to complain.
I guess I forgot to post last weeks runs, I ended up with 42.2 miles for week of 6/5-6/11. With the relay this weekend, I only made 34 miles this week.
