April 2018 Masters' Miles (Read 37 times)

an amazing likeness

    March's monthly summary posted here.

April is Boston Marathon month here in New England, blue and yellow Adidas jackets appear in unison with daffodils and forsythia buds as the ground thaws. Time to post those hard-earned April miles, race results and running achievements.

    Oh, and this....Desi!

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

      96.5 miles for me.

My sole race was poor by my (idealized) standards and broke a run of >18 months of Peachtree Wave A qualifiers. Still was a Wave B.

5 years ago, I'd have laughed if you told me I could have attained Wave B #Persepctive

        Thanks Milktruck.

April 16 in Boston certainly was a memorable, and damp, day!

143.5 RW miles in April, helping me get to 100 miles ahead of my modest pace bunny for the year.

Out of Hibernation 5K - 1st RW finisher.

Thanks again Milktruck.  That picture will live in infamy.

Oops, forgot to post last month.

          April:

          • 65.3  running
          • 128.9 cycling
          • 27 playoff hockey games (est.)

          Be safe. Be kind.

116 which is really low for me, but with an injury I'll take it.  No races. On to May!

Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth

Was hoping for a full year of 100+ months, but an injury sidelined me temporarily.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

193 miles in April - prime! Building up for Lost Creek 50k in May.

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.
