Hi, If I decide to run the Pacific Crest marathon at 4,200, I'll probably go to Vermont about a month prior. When is the best time to train at altitude before a marathon, and how long does the benefit last? Thanks in advance, Paul

BAP, I know nothing of this. But I do know that Daniels devotes considerable space to it in his "Daniels Running Formula" which is a great read if you are going to do anything at altitude. The point is that Daniels explains the physiology of it all, so that later when you get conflicting advice, which you will, you will understand what to sift through. It's a very useful chapter. Thanks spareribs. I'll re-read Daniels.
