Paul - welcome back. Thanks for last year's racing calendar
and accompanying links to everyone's RR's.
What’s your big race for this year? Are you coming up to the PNW for any of this year’s tunnels?Hope Opie gets in one-or-the-other.
As you know, they're extremely popular.06/09/2019 - Tunnel Marathon07/27 (28?) - Jack and Jill08/18/2019 - Tunnel Vision09/15/2019 - Tunnel Light

Thanks fro the welcome back tetsujin.
Opie should check out the Green River Marathon & Skagit Flats Marathon, too. Skagit Flats is definitely a PR type course (flat, flat, flat) & Green River looks pretty flat, too. Also, when I just now checked, both the Tunnel Vision & Tunnel Light Marathons were still open.I've been trying somewhat unsuccessfully to put together a PNW race schedule that syncs with my current Seattle area travel plans. My youngest grandson up there graduates high school on June 17. Then we're back to Oklahoma until July 4 when we then go back up to Seattle to go on a graduation/family cruise to Alaska. I had toyed with the idea of going up early for graduation and running the Tunnel Marathon or with staying up there after the cruise and doing the July Tunnel Vision Marathon. Or maybe waiting until September to fly back up and run either Skagit Flats Marathon or the Tunnel Light Marathon. Now I'm even seeing how Green River could possibly work. Anyways, I know I'll be running up there some whether it be in local races or just on my own.
Paul
Paul, so good, good, good to hear from you again. I missed your insight as we wrapped up (crashed) our 2018 in 2018 group, as well as input here. I'm glad it was only running mojo that got in the way. You had a bodacious year in 2018...hope you are feeling better now as we get rolling in 2019.
I have registered for one more race since I posted my initial plans
November 9, 2019 Monumental Marathon, Indianapolis, IN
Thanks!
________
I have nothing particularly clever or profound to add as a tag to each message...I just like to run.
Paul - the cruises go through my home turf a little southeast of erika-land. Lots of good Saturday races all summer long and it's less than an hour to run up to the alpines of the local peaks on your own, or one-and-a-half hour family hike to same, or 8-minute tram ride, . . . either before or after whale-watching (crowded pods of monster feeding humpback whales up for the summer from Hawaii and the Baja in Mexico along with resident killer/orcas. Maybe I'll stowaway.
I have one race in the plans so far
01/19 TammyinGP - Southern Oregon FatAss, Rogue River Trail

Visiting a friend in Sacramento. 5-1 to 5-6. Convinced her a trail run would be fun

Paul,
Starting to get into a groove so I signed up for a local trail run, more like a supported LR than a race:
Thanks! Will let you know if I get into NYC. If so, even if I get into Light at the End of the Tunnel, seriously doubt I'll run it. Family get-together is now shaping up for July so maybe Jack and Jill and the half on Sunday the 28th might be nice.

I'm slowly working my mileage back up, too. I'll probably sign up for some more races this weekend. I'm still undecided about a particularly challenging race in late August, but hope to decide by the weekend.

Here's what I have so far:
4/13 wildchild Desert Rats trail running festival - 50k, Fruita, CO
8/31 wildchild- The Grand Traverse mountain run - 40 miles, Crested Butte to Aspen, CO
11//1 wildchild - not a race, but Rim to Rim to Rim run in the Grand Canyon, AZ
I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.
