    Mornin' everyone.

    Monday’s monoclimatic workouts:

Tramps (6 EZ beautiful cool Spring morning miles)

Dave (4.35 morning miles in 34° temps)

Pfriese (EZ 6 morning miles ‘round town)

    RunnerKSA (3.1 week-starting miles, and 2.2 post-work miles)

Catwhoorg (5 miles, sluggishly started, on a glorious day)

    Tet (5 sunny miles)

    Twocat (one elliptical hour)

Spacityrunner (4.4 nice & EZ trail miles)

    StarrRuns (3.1 miles & a whole bottle of H2O)

    Holly (light weights & core)

    Nice poetic start yesterday, Tramps.

Maybe you have to stop watching those British shows for a while, Dave.

I’m looking forward to finding out how David did in his matches yesterday, Tammy, and I hope you both had a good time at the dinner last night.

Interesting luncheon, RunnerKSA. How was the food? Funny vid, Tramps.

    dg. - I can’t imagine AG awards for every age from 6 to 15 - a RD’s nightmare!

Congrats on the completion of classes, Twocat! Enjoy (or not) the upcoming meetings.

So, so good of you to hang wit the trail run coordinator, Spacityrunner! Indeed, it does feel good to give what we have received.

Sounds like a great weekend with DD and family, StarrRuns.

I woke up during every hour last night, except between 2 and 3. So after I fed the cat at 4 (and also because I didn’t want to dress for the 34° temps outside - I’m done with that for this season), I did a little readings little sleeping, and a little stretching till it was time to get up and get the day going. Skipping today put me even further behind my pace bunny, but I didn't care.

    Have a greta Tuesday!

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

3.5 morning-  these are some nice mornings!   2.2 after work while I watched the uplifting news (not).

The food was actually good at the luncheon.  It's the rah-rah Omni Hotel downtown Nashville.  I was expecting normal banquet food, but it was a really nice green salad with fruit and berries with a blackened chicken breast (cold) on it that was good.  I was really hungry, so I stole some extra from the empty place next to me, including the dessert which was a custard fruit tart.  I seem to be a bigger eater than most of the women......

One interesting thing.  The news reported that there were over a hundred protesters outside.  Well, I took a picture from the level we were on for the luncheon.  I could see ALL the protesters.  There might have been 30.

Jay--Ha!  You know the "poetry" was Elvis Costello, right?

        KSA--Fake news.

Gorgeous cool Spring morning again.  I'm loving this reprieve from the too-early warm and humid days.

I did 8 miles with 3x1 tempo intervals.  Knee did a little better this week.

When is this hockey going to end anyway?

        Hopefully, never.

        Be safe. Be kind.

        Henrun

2 miles in the sun. It felt much warmer than the temp (mid 40's) and I took off my jacket shortly after I started. I, also, had a restless night. We're  having plumbing problems in our kitchen and for the last 5 days we've been eating out much too much and had to endure kitchen flooding for a few days. Plumbers are here now and hope the problem will be resolved today.

Another worry- have a 5K on tap for Sunday in Maine and a coastal storm may force us to cancel. We'll make a decision on Thursday.

            LOL, Tramps.  Absolutely.

Thanks for the well wishes for David's matches yesterday. He won first round 6-0, 6-0 but lost 2nd round.  He went up against a real good player and the fact that with only one year under his belt and they had a lot of very close games, well, i told David not to get discouraged by it, but he was disappointed. Even the other players parents said that the score was not very reflective of what a good player David is.  But if David had been able to win that round, he actually had a very easy opponent the 3rd round which he would have won easily and qualified for state.
Then we were off to FBLA dinner and awards, which was a 3 hour event. It's mostly recognizing the seniors but also recognizing those that placed at State and are headed off to Nationals in Anaheim, which included David since he placed 1st in State.

I don't know how David keeps up on all he has going on sometimes. He has AP testing this week - AP Calc today, AP Comp tomorrow. and had AP History last week. These tests are 4-5 hrs long and then he has to spend the rest of the week making up for all the classtime he's missing due to AP testing.

Another long day for me and no running. I have my board meeting this evening.

But tomorrow - all I have to do is WORK - what an easy day that will be. And I'll run after work.

              Tammy

                sorry about the penguins, tramps.

                Maybe change name to "cats"

                so they'll have nine lives.

                .

no cloud cover showing up half-way

                through this morning's five miler:

sunny all the way.  no wonder some

people don't like the rain that much.

                .

did the dg challenge while crossing the bridge

counting by tens on my fingers to each 100 steps

and got up to 3,652 steps for the one-and-a-half

                mile or so distance, . . . I think.

Drove to the Wichita Mts Wildlife Refuge this morning and ran the road on Mt. Scott to the top & back down, 6 miles total.

                  Marathon Maniac #957

                    Pfriese - that looks awesome!

Just to offset the David report, I will tell you that DD got suspended for 3 days from school for scissoring off a snippet of a boy's hair in class (apparently with his permission "I'm about to get a haircut anyway.") and posting it on her Snapchat.  Apparently posting any video taken on school grounds to social media that is not of a learning nature is an automatic suspension for 3 days.

4 miles for me this morning on the TM.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

                    Trails are hard!

She does make life interesting doesn't she Holly?

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

Holly S. to think that gets you suspended for three days! When I think of the stuff that went on in my HS, a Snapchat of a lock of hair seems pretty tame.

pfriese funny seeing the route mapped out.

StarrRuns I love the change of seasons too! So long as the change is to summer!

spacityrunner very nice of you and a very sweet story about the trail coordinator.

It is freeeeeeezing here in CT! What gives? This is May! Nature, earth to nature, this is earth . . . it is supposed to be warm by now! By N-O-W! Got that? No? The result was 6 miles, with a long sleeved shirt and cold numb immobile fingers by the time I got home. Meetings ended and I returned home at 7:30. Tomorrow at least they all end at 1pm.

Live like you are dying not like you are afraid to die.

                        MM #5615

                          Hello everybody!

I went 6 miles, tonight, after my chiropractor appointment.  The guy is trying real hard to keep me together...I still feel like I'm falling apart.

Quite a comeback, huh, Tramps?  I coached a girl in soccer many years ago who moved to Pittsburg to work for the Penguins' organization...I'm not sure what she does...but I was kind of rooting for them because of her.  Which was hard, because, I still can't get over them beating my North Stars in the '91 finals.  I can still remember Mario Lemieux taunting one of our players in the final game.  I can't stand that guy...GO CAPS!

                          Okay--gotta go!  See ya!

Oh, Holly, three days, really? Maybe not having a phone would keep her out of this trouble.

Jay, 34 is chilly when you get used to a few nice days. I have many nights that I wake up two or three times. Reading does help me snooze sometimes.

Tramps, glad the knee held out. Are you planning any races or just wait until it's better? Did you see that there is another hockey game on tonight? I think you are right, it will never end.

Henrun, did you carry your jacket or, **gasp** tie it around your waist? Hoping that you get to Maine for the race.

Tet Tet even got some sunshine today, yeah!

Tammy, David is a champion in so many ways, he did very well.

Paul, that route map kind of looks like one of my loop-de-loop quilting designs.

twocat, summer is coming and then we will complain about the heat. Didn't you wear gloves?

Hi MikeE, I rarely go to the chiropractor but know that they help a lot of people. I would rather get a massage. My nieces' husband has a practice up in the Cities.

I almost went to bed without posting my run. I did get up this morning and planed to run 3 1/2 but only ran 3.1 miles. There were two noisy geese, one on either side of the road so I turned around. The road is called "The Grade" as it goes between the lake and Sunset Bay. I didn't want to get between them and their goslings and risk getting attacked.n Didn't Tomwhite have an encounter with them?  I went for walks on my breaks today then came home and worked in the flower bed. I need to get refunds on some perrenials that didn't even make it one year. I found the receipts, now am trying to decipher them.

Star, kudos to you for keeping your receipts and finding them. You are one organized lady!

Holly, I am surprised to read about the suspension. It seems like kids are on their phone all the time.

RunnerKSA, good food at conferences are always a nice surprise. Protester?

Tramps, nice mile repeats for you today. We are having a lovely weather here as well.

Speaking of good weather, I decided to take advantage of the gorgeous spring afternoon to do a longish hill run. 12 miles total for my wings along Salmon Creek, which by the way is overflowing on the road due to the high water created by the rain and snow melting. I ran ankle deep on water for about 100 feet. It was fun Smile

RunnerKSA, I had a boss that accused me of being able to "Annihilate a buffet". I still have a healthy appetite.

I'm sorry to hear about the plumbing issues, Henrun.

Tammy, almost every time you rightfully glow about David, I recall a video you shared when he opened a gaming some darn thing at Christmas time. The young fella bouncing up and down.

Oh for goodness sakes, Holly. The equivalent of passing notes in class. DD#2 had a boyfriend get suspended because he said he wished the principle would die. In grade school, I brought a never armed mortar shell in for show and tell. I didn't get suspended. I had a stern talking to. I got to keep the shell. And I was warned about taking smoke grenades to class.

Starr, you still have the receipts? Wow.

After going into Sunday's half with out having a training plan, I'm still a little tender. Is there a treatment for dislocated dangling participles in the male stuff? Asking for a friend. No regrets.
