    Mornin' everyone!

Slo, sometimes I can leave a meeting and leave it all behind me (at least till the next day), but not always. It just is. Nice run yesterday - sorry about the frosty pumpkin. BTW, it's tomorrow again today.

Stumpy, I've been wearing gloves for a while, but haven't had to break out the tights and jacket - yet.

Watch those zombies in the dark, Mariposai! Good luck in your travels.

I'm glad you found your clothes in time for yesterday's run, Rochrunner!

Nice run, LaT. I'm also sorry we'll miss each other this weekend. We'll have to try to schedule another race meet-up.

Dave, Ribs likes it when you say "half mary" too!  Wink

Tammy, I'm not at all surprised that David is as good a sportsman as he is a runner. It's too bad some other folks have less honorable approaches.

Seems that snow is creeping in all over the place! Nice 5er on the dreadmill, Holly.

Door #3's loss, Enke. I hope things go better with #4!

Dg - I also wonder if 'mo boy' is becoming 'less boy.' I hope we didn't say anything offensive. He's got a great SOH!

Tet - "Did you ever have to make up your mind?" What song??

    Nice early Christmas gift, WildChild!

I'm glad you're being smart about avoiding further injuries, Henry, and that it is working for you.

Awful tale about your neighbor, Steve. I also can't imagine being out there on his own for so long. I hope he'll be OK.

4+ naked racewalking miles at 4 o'dark. 43F, clouds moving in, and a westerly breeze. I was in shorts, l/s shirt, gloves and a cap. I didn't sleep well last night - last minute race thoughts racing through my mind. I hate second guessing myself when I know that things are under control, but we always want every race to be perfect. What a pain in the butt! Smile

    Have a greta Thursday!

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

Good morning Jay and all to follow. You always give such a nice recap in the morning, Jay. I just have to sit down with my cup of coffee and read your post Smile Sorry for the restless night. The race will be perfect.

How horrible for your neighbor Steve. And thank god for neighbors like you. With the busy lives we all lead, most people don't get to know their neighbors very well, much less help them in times of trouble. Loved the pictures of the doggies the other day too. Speaking of doggie pictures, I sure miss Mary and her Brinkley posts. And the puppies. Definitely miss the puppies....

Glad you're running again Henry. Sounds like you've got the right balance to make it work.

Sorry about Door #3 Enke. Mr. Right is out there - he's just waiting for you to find him!

No snow here but darn chilly. Ran 5 yesterday in 28° temps but no wind. Still haven't given up the capris yet but did need gloves and a light jacket. Today? Same temps but windy so it felt colder. I only had time for 4 miles today but it's been a while since I had over 30 miles in a week. I should make that with a good run tomorrow and Saturday.

We're going to see "Captain Phillips" tomorrow night. Has anyone seen it yet? I heard it's really good.

      Slo

        Hey Gang!

No run yet. If I stick to my guns I'll RAW.

I hear there's breakfast casserole in the kitchenette so I'm cutting my post short.

MTA; I was too late. Talk about vultures!

DW will be celebrating her 50th in January. She's made it clear...no parties. And this isn't No means yes. She means no party.

I'm thinking a short trip but really don't know where to...Vegas (we are not gamblers) And we are not skiers but thought about Colorado or Wyoming...just a 3 nighter type trip...suggestions?

Good Morning All! Just a quick fly by, will try to catch up later on all of the happenings. No run yesterday but a nice 5 miles this a.m. at a 7:26 pace. Hope everyone has a great day and Happy Running!

Got in yesterday from Seattle.  In Phoenix they say, "but it's a dry heat." In Seattle they say, "but it's a damp cold."  So glad to be back to the sunshine and warm weather.  I've been away from the forum for the entire trip so I have no idea what is going on here. I'll catch up on all of it tonight.

But from what I gather, Tammy's David had a disappointing experience, Tet is a fan of the Lovin' Spoonful and Divechief is saying "half mary" behind my back.

5.5 at a nice easy pace this morning. Felt super, and that is unusual the day after a long flight.  I've looked at my schedule for the rest of the year and unless someone surprises me, I have no trips booked. I do webinars, etc., from my desk here so I still can feed the family, although barely scraping by.  Spareribs

Foggy four miler in wooden geta spurred as a replacement run in case this weekend’s two Halloween costume 5K’s don't work out but, like last week’s Husky Dash 10K, probably won’t know if either or both are going to happen until they happen. Thinking of a ninja in one and rice paddy farmer in the other.  Any jesters, cave girls or others this year?

                3.53 miles at lunch today.

We had some snow in the air yesterday but it was 45° so no skiing.

steve, what a sad event with your neighbor.  My thoughts are with him and his family.

Nice long runs for CNY and Twocat.

This morning, it was about 30° and there was a little wind.  I did 8 miles at a 10:46 pace.

I just signed up to get e-mail updates on my daughter's progress in Sundays Marine Corp Marathon.

A good day and good runs for all.

Is OrangeMat running Marine Corp as well?

No running yet, not even Xt today. Just way too busy with work and traveling to and from meetings to wake up this morning and go for a run. That is OK, I will have most of tomorrow off (comp hours) so I can run as long as I want to.

Great weather around here. I want to go outside and play with the fall leaves, but I can't Black eye

Steve - My prayers are with your neighbor and his family.  I can't even imagine what he endured or how terrified he must have been.  This did get me thinking about Shorty.  Most time, I have somewhat of an idea where he is, but there are times when I don't know.  We'll definitely have to remedy that.  I do worry about him since he works machinery that can kill or maim him (riding mowers, walking mowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers), so my daily prayer is that he is safe and returns home unharmed.  I also think often of the fact that he is uninsured.  We're trying to figure out how to remedy that, but right now God's gotta keep him safe.

I wondered when Ribs would find out about the "half mary." Wink

Shorty was a bad influence again.  I had planned to run this a.m. because I have friends coming to town tomorrow and need to clean tonight.  Groggily, he said he'd start cleaning while I was out running, if I wanted to wait and run after work.  I am not one to argue with a man making such deals when he's not quite awake (and I have it tape recorded . . . kidding . . . maybe).

So an after work run it will be!  Although I did get some of the kitchen cleaned up while waiting to take The Zigmeister to the vet.  Just rabies shots, he was NOT a happy camper.  Had to lure him out from under the bed with kitty treats (he's addicted and needs kitty treat rehab), but made sure to give him more when we got home (feeding the addiction).

Although moot, since he likely is quarter mile from winding snake And his untimely demise.

Hang in there, Mo Boy....we'll talk you down if we have to.....

Very busy time for me as it always is near the end of the month.  Now my boss has me doing marketing, too, so I am having meetings and tours at nursing homes and lunches with referral sources, etc., on top of trying to get all my Medicaid and VA benefits applications in before the end of the month.  To be honest, I really like the marketing stuff, mostly I guess because I believe in what we are doing and that we can make a difference.  Still, busy, busy, busy....

6 miles for me this morning on the TM watching the other half of Hangover II.  Not a movie for the kids...I think that is the most penises I have seen in a non-porn movie....Blush

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

No update on the neighbor though I stopped by his place and did see a few things that need to be done before snow fall. We've talk a good number of times, but I only know him as "Teddy's Dad" because of his dog....Teddy

Now we need to get zombie faces on the so the dogs look even more terrifying.

This is on a plateau of a hill. In the spring, I went to see where the spring that keeps the cattails watered starts. The ground is dry, but I could here water running rapidly underground. When I stomped my foot, the ground sounded very hollow. I left before falling through.
