Apologies for spelling errors or omissions. Have a greta day!Going to shop then go to school and work in my classroom. Hopefully 8 miler today. Like to go shoe shopping tomorrow and check out the hullabaloo about Altras.Tailwinds!
Great start, bio! Wonderful recap. Thank you! Enjoy the classroom on this Saturday. And, yes, I'm on the Hanson's plan, tracking to Boston. You are doing the same for an April marathon, no??
It's a lovely day here...the first Saturday in well over a month with no "hurry off to something" on the agenda. Grateful for that. Working on taxes this morning at home, will get in 6 miles or so mid day, then 2 to 3 miles with my grandson, the budding track runner, after that. 2" of very powdery snow overnight which I got off the driveway already quite easily.
Have a greta Saturday!

I have nothing particularly clever or profound to add as a tag to each message...I just like to run.
Thanks, bio. Good recap. Good morning, Joe. (Isn’t that a radio show?)
7 Florida miles- chilly and windy. I felt silly wearing a windbreaker in Florida, but I needed it! Good running weather, though. This is my longest run since before the pneumonia and everything connected with it! Tomorrow might be tough since it is supposed to rain all day- and we know the rule! We are going to some sort of art show today and just roaming around the area. I had to deal with a lot of work issues yesterday, which I always do even when I’m on vacation. I’m pretty OK with that. They pay me.
I will share this one- which, of course, did not need to be sent to the legal department. A customer bought fish food from us and was feeding fish in a development where, I gather, she did not live. Apparently it attracted geese to the dismay of the residents. She says our fish food caused the geese to become pregnant and multiply and that she is being taken to court. She wants our help. I try to be polite, but I told the call center (ours) that this was really not our problem.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the start and recap bioguy. Enjoy that quiet classroom!
Lots of running for you today Joe. Have fun with your GS.
You seem to be recovered from that nasty bug KSA. And how exactly do geese get pregnant by eating fish food? What are they putting in fish food these days?!
Twocat - good luck with your run!
Tom - I'm hoping that your back feels better today.
Mike - it looks like we're going to get blasted with another snowstorm tomorrow/Monday. I don't know why I live here either.
-15 below here this morning. That's right. Hey Erika - you can have these temps back! The Y was crazy, even at 6:00 AM on a Saturday morning. I was only able to keep a treadmill for an hour (those are the rules if people are waiting). Then 10 minutes on the bike to cool down and 15 minutes of core and stretching.
I hope it's warmer where you are today!
The usual Saturday morning group run today. First time running since last Sunday’s Marathon, but not because of that. DW is still weak from her hospital stay at the start of the month and a follow up appointment on Thursday sent her for blood work and X-ray. It was her birthday yesterday and what she got was another pneumonia diagnosis (6th time in last 15 months) and more antibiotics. Of course DW takes priority over running!
Ran 14.8 at 10:07 average pace. Beautiful morning with temperature in the low 40s. Only my 7th run this year, but took me over 100 miles for the month (20th consecutive month over 100 miles).
Started running at age 60.

Huh?
fatozzig I somehow suspect you will be back to double digit long runs way before I am.
Mike E I have one word for you - Florida.
deez4boyz hope the knee feels good today.
tetsujin209 are you sure it was 245 and not 246?
RunnerKSA first rule of problems. Somebody else is to blame and they should pay to fix it.
Quickadder man, your DW has been through the ringer. I hope it all ends on a positive note and soon.
It is brutally cold out today. Since my new run routine still requires two extended stretches of walking my DW talked me into doing it tomorrow rather than today. Instead I went on the elliptical for 40 minutes. Then I did some errands around the house.
Last night, DW and I went to what she has called lamest birthday celebration ever. Her friend's DH sent a text out with a Evite looking gif to meet at a local restaurant at 7pm. I responded to the text saying DW and I would be there. He responded, "Just a meeting place with other folks." Huh? Okay then, what is this? Turns out it was just as he said. He did not reserve a table, or anything. He was just there with the birthday gal hanging in the bar area. People just sort of milled around with them a bit. After awhile, DW and I left to get dinner. Yes, DW may be right, the lamest birthday celebration ever.

I’m undertrained.
4.8 miles this morning with the running group. It was the last run in the Winter Series. I'm going to miss it!
Trails Rock!
We're part of the area that will be experiencing colder weather than Fairbanks this week. Wednesday's high is predicted to be 1F! Jlynne takes today's prize though!
Glad to say that we are just about finalized with our winter season remodeling plans after scaling down the upstairs bathroom project by a bunch -- just too difficult to do what we had pictured. So an easier bathroom fix-up, new kitchen floor, and carpet in the family room will do us for a while (bathroom is 35 years old, kitchen and family room floors about 20). Always something...
Got in a good 4 miles on the TM at Planet Fitness this morning (if a TM run can ever really be good). I can run better there than at home since it's a larger TM that feels more secure, plus a big open space with TVs I can glance at while listening to my podcasts. Also good for people watching (and, no, I'm not a Leering Larry!).

Guess it's now Good Afternoon, all. In keeping with the "Me time" discussion, DW is off at a baby shower and I just finished up a lake loop with Maggie a bit ago. And no, I was not invited. DD is now sound asleep and I get to start on my weekend list o' tasks.
KSA--probably were still wearing less than the natives.
Quick--best wishes to DW--that's a LOT of pneumonia to work through!
TW--glad you're getting better. I like 90 minute movies, too.
Jlynne--wow, glad we haven't seen that around here!
Need a fast half for late fall. Then I need to actually train for it.
Yes, but there are some long movies that held my attention all the way through and I didn't mind the length at all: the Director's Cut DVDs of the original LOTR trilogy; the Director's Cut of Kingdom of Heaven (3:14!); and Blade Runner 2049 come to mind (have I just outed myself as a geek?).
TW, my sympathies as well, and I look forward to your getting better soon!
Hi everyone,
Sorry that I've been among the missing, but road conditions were terrible this past week (snow to slush to black ice), plus I've been dealing with some minor but still annoying and limiting injuries, plus it was an insanely busy week during which I struggled to stay only a day behind. Because of the road conditions, I didn't workout between last Saturday and Thursday, which also gave my body parts needed time to recover. And I'm about 90% caught up on the various projects I have going, but I also know I have work to do this weekend, and better be ready to hit the ground running (or racewalking) on Monday. I'm sorry, but I haven't kept up with your posts this week, so I'll have to ketchup as we go forward.
I went 5 miles yesterday morning, taking it pretty easy because of remnant black ice. Today, we had a RW training session on an indoor track where I did 3 miles at tempo pace + ladders for a total of 5.1 miles.
Have a greta Saturday.
Jay
Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.
We had a men's breakfast set church this morning. No time for a morning run. When that was over, I was feeling tired but wanted to do something so I went out for a walk/run, but mostly walking. 4.75 miles at a 13:42 pace. 30° here with some light flurries in the air now and then.
