Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Concerned about my calf...it was this muscle that I injured earlier this year.  Tightened without warning in the last 0.75 mile of Saturday's run.  Watched it closely on Sunday and wasn't sure if it was bothering me or not, so I cut Sunday short.  I'm going to take things easy for a bit and hopefully avoid significant injury.

            Thanks Holly -

              Hi there 40/40ers

I need a Free pass as I will reverse taper and run mellow and easy miles---maybe 30 this week, who knows? It's nice to have some unstructured training time before the ramp up to Boston.

It's all good though and I feel super given the NYC marathon on 11/2 and then 2.5 days of work travel and many airplanes.

              Good Luck MrPHinNJ and Tim

Legs are feeling stronger.  Adding a few more miles this week.

                Mon: Rest - complete

Tues: 13 miles - 14.0 miles, nice relaxed run with 10 plus miles @ 7.5 mph on the TM

Wed: 15 miles - 15.0 miles, pretty good run on the TM with a few 1/2 miles intervals @ MP, but mostly at a comfortable aerobic pace.

Thurs: 5 miles - 7.0 miles, recovery pace, slow and easy.

                Fri: 10 miles - 11.0 miles including 5 miles @ tempo.

Sat: 5 miles - 3.0 miles, recovery. legs pretty fatigued from last nights tempo run.

Sun: 18-20 miles - 21.0 miles, lots of hills. legs feeling good and energized.

                Total: 71 miles

Not much of a plan this week except run most days as much as I feel will not result in injury and/or delaying full recovery while trying to get back into swing of things for december marathon.

How you maniacs do these multiples on a regular basis I will never know.

40.1 miles for the week.  Feeling good on the easy/GA runs.  But any striders or faster stuff is not working.  I must still be recovering from Columbus.

Thanks again Holly for doing this for all of us.....you Rawk my Fren------I ended up with 82.7 miles for the week, and I feel great. I had many miles at or close to MP, and I am ready for taper. This by far is a weekly PR, and it seems like the more miles I run, the better I feel. I remember last Fall when I reached 70 miles a couple of times, I never felt so good running. So higher mileage must be a good thing....but still a little sore from my stoopid fall. I am very very ready for taper time, and let the chips fall where the may----TimBo
