Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Did you do the title without your glasses on again?
Peak training week (if you don't count the training at altitude I'll be doing on my drive west and south to Tucson)

Yup, afraid so....
I fell off the training wagon for awhile

Long dead ... But my stench lingers !
I'm with you. Just got on the scale and I am not happy...heading into the holiday season, that is not the place to be...
For me it is pretty normal that I hit January 1st +20 to +40 pounds. This year I am looking to be at 0 to +10 pounds. That would be a huge victory.
Hi! I'm new to this group! I'm 41, and I average over 40 mpw. My mileage has kind of been all over the place since ending my ultra training phase, but I'm getting back on track. AND...This week is officially messed up since returning from Monkeyville. Looking forward to posting and following along with everyone here!

Hi Mississippi
I kinda got to meet you this weekend...I would have never guessed that you would qualify for here.
This is a great group, join in on the daily threads...I need to get off my duff and get back to the 40/40 thread myself.
I'm starting to pick it up to prepare for Boston and it occurred to me that I can be on this thread again regularly!
Be safe. Be kind.

I didn't know this group was here until Robert L. mentioned it out there in the general forum. I can't remember when I met who over the weekend!! The meet & greets were scattered from packet stuffing night, to hotel lobby gatherings, the Saturday a.m. run, the hilly fun run (aka race), and then the post race dinner/fire pit fun. I wish I had gone to the pasta party on Saturday night, there were name tags! I'll definitely be in here posting.
I met you ...
Name tags did not help me much. I think I either talked to you or someone pointed you out at least 3 times - I think it takes about that many times on average for me to remember people.

I was part of the Microtel group, that is where we met. I wasn't one of the rowdy ones though! I left with Ennay on Monday morning.
Btw - Holly S., I have pictures of you from the race finish.

Thanks Holly! I won't make 40, this week but, at least, I have a training plan, now.

Jump right in, the water's fine!
This is a pretty friendly group in here. We generally have a daily thread where people pop in and chat a bit about what's going on in their lives on that day, and then talk about their running. Chime in anywhere, and don't feel like you have to keep up.
Monkey really screwed up my left leg, not apparent until days after the run. I may have to take it easy for a couple weeks to let it heal up. I'll play it by ear. This is NOT the weekend to be doing light running, darn-it.
