I was rather tired last night, so I opted to make today a SRD. I was afraid I was doing too much too soon. After having a lazy day, I sorta wish I went to the gym and did something.

Oh, I stepped on the scale for the first time since Jan 1st. I lost about 3lbs. All I did was alter my diet and of course walking/running again. I have much more to lose, but you have to start somewhere.

chilly 28o over here too on my last day before reality-land strikes
again.   However, still 63-degrees warmer than somewhere else.
      .
Should have gone to a favorite ocean-beach hot springs

that touts "you can see America from our pools"

but had another dream about doing another thousand stairs

for a possible Mt. Fuji view that was clouded over on Sunday

when I went up yesterday.  No clouds this Monday morning

over here and could see more than yesterday but, somehow,

the mountain seems to be pretty good at generating its own.
      ,
Much bigger difference was only seeing five other hikers
for the hour-and-a-half ascent instead of the yesterday's

thousands of rush-hour like weekend crowds tourist

guides call too “oppressive” to recommend

"Enjoy yourself. Your younger days never come again." 100yo T. Igarashi to me in geta at top of Mt. Fuji (8/2/87)

MikeE, your youngest grand daughter is a doll!!!!!

Evanflein, the last time I lived whee the forecast was that cold, I rode a bicycle to work. I was over dressed and I baked. When I took my gloves off and grabbed the bike, my hand froze to the frame.

Yay on the weight loss Flats!

Just over 4 miles of very tough snowshoeing.

        During:

We saw a very nice set of bobcat prints.

        After:

A tired dog is a good dog.

When we got home, MIL and FIL were over for dinner. With his Alzheimer's, we're never sure what's in store. Tonight was good. Though he could not put a string of words together, we were still able to communicate.  I loaned FIL a harmonica and he played while Tag sang.

Tet - sounds like an awesome hike!

Bertha - negative spits - sweet!

Mike - Like Erika said, you just can't help but smile at that precious face...

Steve - that's Tag, but who is the other dog?

Erika - my favorite part is the hourly: "Now, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, Sunset."    When you retire, will you move south?

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
