    Hello everybody!

I think running rule #2 is: "No wearing a shirt from a race you didn't do".   Some friends came home from a trip to Hawaii and brought me back an IronMan t-shirt...I thanked them for it and put it in a box.

That's a silly rule. Unless it is a finishers shirt, who cares? Not only do I wear shirts from races I didn't run, I wear shirts from colleges I never attended. I wear Buffalo Bills shirts and I've never played organized football let alone professionally.

Hmmm...I wonder if I can find that box I put that shirt in.

Interesting points of view on wearing shirts from races that you didn't run. I have done that when our company sponsors the local 10K. They give us a bunch of shirts after the race. I have earned several of them though. The YMCA took over the race two years ago and the shirts have really gone downhill so I don't think anyone would even want to wear one.  Tet, you must have the record for the number of shirts, well except Amy would probably have you beat there.

it was 90 after work so I opted to walk my route instead of run. Maybe if I had a race to train for I would get up in the mornings. I slept in this morning and I am still tired. The only way I can stay awake to watch tv is if Inam knitting. I tried to use the font x2 to make a degree symbol butt can't  figure it out....

Jlynne, tomorrow is the start of the entry for the Twin Cities 10 mike race. I think I will enter.

I have a shirt from the LoVit 100k 100 mile trail run, I got it when I volunteered.  It is the same shirt the finishers got.  I wear it but always feel a bit guilty...I didn't run that race.  So, I was out of town last weekend and wore that shirt.  As I was walking across the parking lot back to my room a guy was sitting there and looking at me...you know the kind of look...like he knows me or something...and then as I got closer he says...nice shirt.  I say...thanks.  Have you done it.  He says no but  I know someone who has, I hear its beautiful.  I say...yes it is.  and walk away.  I still feel kind of guilty that I didn't clarify..oh the silly rules we make up for ourselves

I headed out and did 4 miles on the greenway tonight.  It was hot and humid and I thought I was gonna die.  But I didn't.   a bit slower than I was hoping for but not too bad given the conditions.  12:30 m/m.

Mike:  that has happened to me before.  running in hot and humid does weird things to you.  Well, at least to me.

as stumps found out, shirts are like pre-tweet tweets and since I don't tweet, I'll continue t-shirting too so my tried-and-true social medium.   However, no way the special ones like SloJim's hand-mades are going into some bin for someone else to wear who doesn't know how much fun it was to wear 'em.

Sorry to hear about that Jay. Not cool and DQ is warranted. Can't wrap my head around "why". Seems counter to the reasons we run.

Had a great Runner Club board meeting last night except they've installed me as Treasurer. Hello. I'm an engineer ;-) Ah well. My first suggestion was to have double approval for payments. We have a great group and a small amount for ops and our college scholarship program but it seems like a proper check and balance as we grow.

3.1 miles at a MAF rate which is a true recovery pace.

              Cheers.
