Thursday, June 24 Daily runs and chatter (Read 574 times)

I look my best blurry!

Definitely no run for me today but I am oddly OK with it.  Coach said no, No, NO running for 3 days.  I'm looking forward to Sunday.  I ran my tush off impact free in the pool and had a great UE bike session.  Left drenched in sweat.  Got my fix!

My family is sick and tired of talking about my running.  Could care less about my PR last weekend.  Oh well.  I have you guys and you are awesome!!!!

Holly, Holly, I know what you are going through.  I'm sorry.  I'll come to Dayton for a long run/chat someday.  I will!

Yes, that Pickles is a smart woman. And thanks for the update, I'd also been wondering. Funny, we don't hesitate to ask each other how we're doing, but hesitate to bring up a spouse. Glad she's stable and keeping you in line, tw.

      Byll... I wouldn't.

Holly, I find it amazing that guys like your DH and mine can swing back and forth between being mostly supportive, and then downright negative about our running. My DH will do so much for me to be sure I get my runs in, picks me up when I call it quits, brings me water, saves me from hailstorms, etc, etc. But then I get that exasperated tone or look when I say I can't do something at some time or another because I'll be running. Or I was late getting home because my run took longer, or whatever. Then there's always the "last straw" that just makes him say something spiteful and mean about it. Drives me nuts. Just gotta remember (or hope) that the positive outweighs the negative in this area, I guess. But he was out of line to be carrying on that way with DD.

Nice race for you, by the way! You are so much faster than you think you are. Really.

I missed the 4 miler memo, too. 6.1 miles for me at lunchtime, kept the effort easy but the sweat-factor on high. Geez, it was only 73° but in full sun (even on the trail) so felt really hot. Took me a long time to cool off even with a quick shower. I love these conditions, but don't relish going back to my desk for the afternoon.

Oh, it's DH and my 21st anniversary today. Sometimes I'm amazed we've made it to this point. Other times it seems like the most natural thing in the world. I guess there's a lot of things like that.

My reaction to the pig pile after goals in World Cup is that  someone is likely to get hurt... but they are younger,

Love watching though; DS and DD have both played a lot of soccer and understand what they are watching. It is amazing how big a deal it is elsewhere.

        Happy running!

P.S. Erika, we are at 19 years this August. I agree. Sometimes I  worry it is mostly inertia. My   DH tolerates my running but i would not say he is exactly supportive. As the kids get older it is less of an issue in some ways, but there are a lot  of activities for them and Dh  likes to operate  on his own schedule.  Have to keep getting up early i guess...

          G'night.

Roach: I have used google voice for nearly one year.  I love it.  it is the only number I give out anymore.  I almost never get junk calls and it is easy to block numbers.

(holly)  sorry to hear DH was a bit of a butt.  hope things get sorted out soon

Enka hope your knees are healing fast.

Package pick up tomorrow,  Seattle RnR marathon Saturday,  I have barely run since Newport,  I have picked out 3 places I can bail if I need to and I have located the hash house harriers beer aid station.

We will see how it goes.  Hope to start training after this one.

Not much running for me either Dave.  No bailing though, we can make to the finish  one way or another!

                We love you TW.

Crud RochRunner, I'd like to get all of our phones to ring less!!! My work phone, I refer to as my "tether"

                Nice quake story TomS

(((((Holly))))). From what I can tell, you're a wonderful role model Mom. Maybe one or both of the kids will get the running bug. Mabe neither of them will...They've both are being introduced to a heathy activity. If they do become running addicts, most likely, they'll not rob a liquor store to feed the addiction. DW and I have had discussions. We've worked it out. I could be chasing women. I could be spending time at the casino....Bars.

For my last big race, I'd get up at 2:30 and head out by 3:00 for the long runs as to try and keep the peace...Some thimes it worked.

                Yeah, What AAmos said!

way Kewl Erika!!!! 21 years rocks!!! He's a darn lucky guy

I'd love to do a RnR race Dave!!!

DW and I are getting ready for a weekend "Staycation"

With Leslie's help, I worte her a poem to read between Batman movies:

                My Dearest DW

                My dearest DW

                I really realy Lubaya

When I see how hot you are

Even when you are really far

                My heart gets to tickin

Like when it gets clogged with deep friend chicken.

I wrote this poem for you

                I like ripe honeydew.

                There's no plagiarism

So you won't see me in prison

My love for you is as large as my profound proboscis

When you wear a Black Ribbed Batman tank top, I get the fever like mononucleosis.

Awww, Steve. You are a heart breaker.

My reaction to the pig pile after goals in World Cup is that  someone is likely to get hurt... but they are younger,

The star UCLA Second Baseman got hurt when his team won their Super Regional a week and a half ago.  They all piled on and he hurt his wrist.  I think he missed some games this wek at the College World Series (though I;m not sure).

That's true Bill.  As loyal UCLA parents, we're watching whenever possible, and they showed him in the dugout with his cast on   At least they're doing well without him.  BTW, the LA Angels 1st baseman broke his leg during a pigpile a little while ago.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.
