    Good morning:

Neighbor Jay must be sleeping in... Almost balmy this morning at 19 degrees, and after all the bitter cold, I was a bit overdressed. I ran 6.5 or so around town; I had planned on a little longer but my legs were just tired. Yesterday I ended up on the TM and ran 7.25 with 4 x 1000 at tempoesque pace-- which gets slower all the time but still tuckers me out.

Headed back north tonight.  Last weekend I found another great place to run, a Fire road which is used lightly by snowmobilers and XC skiiers and is closed to traffic. I found out it gets groomed twice a week, a several mile stretch. Saturday morning is particularly good, before the weekend snowmobile crowd gets there.  Last weekend I ran there twice. Maybe some run/hike/ski this weekend.

DS has several races on tap over the next week or so; he will be busy and not in school so much...

I hope everyone is well. I am a bit behind around here.

Good morning!  Just 3+ this morning after yesterday's off day to test blood.

And already the results are in. You may recall I gave up alcohol to see if it would have an effect on my liver, which is producing all this LDL.  November reading was 100 and cardio dr. wants it at 90.  Well, it came in at 89!  So I'm pleased about that.  However, the research indicates that two beers or glasses of wine per day is optimal, so I may try that in February just to have a comparison.  My diet overall was much better in January.  I keep on learning.  Spareribs

Good morning! Lamerunner, I know what you mean about "tempoesque" pace... I think mine gets slower all the time, too!

Good for you, Ribs! Will be interesting to see what your next readings are. How long were you on your alcohol free experiment?

Byll, sometimes too much warning is counter-effective. They feel they have a long time to make the transition, and then all of a sudden, hey! That's right around the corner! I'm happy for you! I think you'll love Michigan!

I'm not even packing a bag for a mid-day run today. Tired of the ice. I might get out there this weekend, if it stays kind of nice, but I need a break from the ice. So... TM run tonight after work, need to catch up on some podcasts!

Lame - still a nice TM workout!

Ribs - well done!  And I will be curious to see how the February experiment works out.

Erika - I agree about ice not being worth it.

Friday is early off day for me, and now I am packing for an overnight in Indiana.  DH and I and a group of friends are heading to the Hollywood Casino, staying at a local hotel with a shuttle to the casino.  I am not a gambler, but I think we will be spending more time in the night club there anyway dancing the night away...hopefully I can stay up till midnight.....

Today my DS turns 17 - where did the time go?  We will be celebrating tomorrow, though, since we are going out of town tonight.  Our best birthday present to him is arranging for his little sister to spend the night at a friends so he won't have to babysit.

6 miles on the TM for me this morning.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

            3 TM miles  ... and I'm out!

goodness is its own reward; for more tangible outcomes, you need to try badness.

Happy Birthday to Holly's DS.  I saw him pic on FB.  He's so grown up!

Ribs - Great speech by Riblet.  You have every right to be proud.  He will obviously have no trouble making his way in the world or making his mark on the world.

              Loved the turkey photo!

I don't know what my problem is, but I just don't want to get out of bed in the mornings!  However, this lackadaisical attitude I have adopted re my strength and core training has to stop.  And with my tendinitis issue trying to flare up again, I absolutely HAVE to take control or I'll be in the same mess I was last year.  Ugh!!  Calgon!  Take me away!!!

Okay - tomorrow - running with Karen.  Yea!

Hey all. Got a nice fast 10k at lunch. Legs are starting to get stronger.  We celebrated the twins birthday last night. I cannot believe we have 3 teens in the house and DD got her learners permit yesterday. Best stay clear of our area for a bit.

Happy birthday to your son Holly.

Well done Ribs the mad scientist.

                Off for more work. Cheers

Happy Chinese New Year to all.

                  Chinese food for dinner

I will wear my Mao Chinese hat during my run today just for the fun of it.

I feel giddy today, don't know why.

Very cool picture, Tet! Being a horse lover, I was always enamored with the idea of the "Year of the Horse," till I found out that "horse" people really aren't described as being very nice, according to legend. Oh well, I still think it's cool.

5.2 easy miles on the treadmill tonight. Realized I was less than 20 miles away from a 200 mile month for January. Hmph. Probably could've gotten off my butt a couple of times during the month and done something about that, but you find out a little late in the game. Oh well. Still a lot more than last year at this time.

1 TM miles, just because a mile is better than none

Cooked a very yummie Chinese meal to celebrate the Chinese New Year (Tetsujin, I was in Chine when they were celebrating the last Year of the Dragon).

Then I went to a fun Hip Hop concert performed by an amazing international group. I had a blast.

Yes...my friend Heather and I danced to our heart content (the Easy Pacer chose to stay home since he does not enjoy live concerts and to enjoy a night of computer games, which he enjoys). I value the trust and liberty each one of us have to be able to do what we each enjoy doing, in fact, we encourage that for personal growth and relationship health. We have so many things we enjoy doing together  as well.

Tomorrow will be cold, too cold to run outside for someone with asthma...so TM...here I come.

                        Go Seahawks go!!!!!!!
