5 on the trails. 4 squirrels, 1 rabbit, a bunch of dogs, too many humans, and one two feet long snake that scared the crap out of me.

      Hello everybody!

Holly S. it dawned on me that naming your new dog Rosie might be an omen. I checked this book of mine with a triangle and a pentagram on it and right after the rules of running thing there is a section on dog names. There it says, when the marathon runner who goes by Holly S. names her dog Rosie she will either run with the Rosie Ruiz Fan Club in the September Reach the Beach Relay or the world will end. Yep, right in the book! See you either have to join this fall's Rosie Ruiz Fan Club's Reach the Beach team or we all die. Truly. You would not want something like that on your conscience would you?

Holly!  I cannot prove that Twocat is telling the truth...and, yet...I cannot prove that he is lying, either.  All I know is...there is a chance that the world could end and you could have the ability so prevent that from happening.  Holly--I have 10 marathons to complete to get all 50 states + DC...I cannot do them all before that relay...my boss would never allow me to take that many days off.  So, please--if there is any way possible to do that dang relay--please do it. Thank you.

      I did 10 miles, today.

      Okay--gotta go.  See ya!

Twocat - given the difficulty of talking DH into a race that we can drive to, an out of state race that involves flying is not going to be feasible this year. Sorry!  Mike - it looks like it's up to you...

Some great running and racing here today!

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

        Trails are hard!

Greetings all.  It's spring in NE finally!  Of course this means that it will now be warmer than I like for running, but nice to be out in for other things.

Congrats on the acceptance, C-R.  Aiming towards vet school?

Pretty fast company you have, KC.  Hope you didn't take too much carp for not finishing first along with all the others

This morning was supposed to be 5 at pace.  I was very happy to be only 15 seconds off the 9 m/m I want (need?) for my 2 hour half.  The crud is slowly going away.  Interesting trip around the lake today.  First I saw a guy running while pushing a rototiller   He was going opposite, so wasn't quite tempted  to stop and ask why.  Then I came across a convoy of moms and their jogging strollers--there must have been at least 15

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

Got a late start on my run today. Just so many things stepped in to take up time. I spent about an hour outside cleaning up the flower bed, and cleaning up DS2's dog's dog poop. Good grief, they moved out the end of January, and he was cleaning up poop before they left, but he obviously missed a lot. Today's run was 7.1 miles with a strong (13 mph is strong for us!) wind from the North. I adjusted the route a couple times to try to avoid it. Yesterday's run was 4.2 miles progressive pace, with the last mile being sub-8.

Late to posting my lead leg 6 miler because I spent just about 5 hours in working on the Orchards in Bloom logistics.  As runner we have NO IDEAon the thousands of hours an RD spend to ensure we have a good race logistics.  Btw, unless you are running a corporate race, we are all volunteers and we are working the logistics at the 11th hour.
