Scratch me from the beer mile. Family in tow and won't make it in time. But you can replace that with a 5K the Saturday before Monkey where both DS and I will get that sub 20 monkey off our backs.

Hilene - have a fun run. Any costumes?
Are you getting back into PR shape yet?

Sounds more Thanksgivingy but did Plymouth replace dana point?
        .
Too late to get in this week’s Intrepid but this morning’s annual Green Lake Gobble 5K’s gunna work out after all.  Better yet, they have a 10K option this year. However, please change me from the Seattle Marathon to my own Grampa’s Marathon at the zoo with four-and-a-half year old GS.who's comin' down here for Thanksgtiving weekend. Oh boy,oh boy, I should’ve been training.  Oh well.

I'll be running in the 10K version Detroit Turkey Trot (aka, The Parade).  This will be my first 10K since 1999, and only my second race of that distance since 1990; I'm thinking I won't PR.  Smile

          Fat old man PRs:

          • 1-mile (point to point, gravity assist): 5:50
          • 2-mile: 13:49
          • 5K (gravity assist last mile): 21:31
          • 5-Mile: 37:24
          • 10K (first 10K of my Half Marathon): 48:16
          • 10-Mile (first 10 miles of my Half Marathon): 1:17:40

Thanks Ilene for putting me on the list.  I haven't been to that part of Michigan since the late 1970s. I here there have been a few changes since them; should make for an interesting race.  Smile

After that length of time, you can start on a whole new set of PRs.  23 years is a whole generation ago.  Have a great race.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

You're lucky.  All I have is "Fifties PRs".  And I don't appear to be improving on them.  Oh well, 60s' PRs aren't terribly far away. Roll eyes

Yeah, I consider myself lucky to still be running given my history of injuries (both running related and otherwise).

As for my 10K PR for my fifties, I logged a 48:24 on a cold snowy morning where the course was diabolically slippery, especially the tar strips, the paint work, and the man-hole covers.  Even though my time wasn't anywhere near as fast as I was hoping for, I'm thinking the conditions had something to do with it as I was able to place 11th in the 55-59 age group out of 222 finishers; this at least is way better than I had hoped for.  Smile
