Hi Leslie. Got bad news from the Doc. today, My foot will require another surgery next year, but for now he says I can continue to run if I can tolerate it.
Monday: Rest
Tuesday: Run: 4 miles at reservoir
Wednesday: Run: 4 miles on Alter G
Thursday: Run: 4 miles on Treadmill at Gym ( first treadmill run since before accident, kinda scary!)
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Rest: Annual Toys for Tots motorcycle run
Sunday Run: 4.25 mile run around reservoir.... ( first time twice around without walking! )
TOTALS: Running: 16.25 miles! YAY!
Jim, I hope you can continue to add time/miles to your foot. Was this unexpected? I thought you'd said earlier that you'd require some more "work" done on it...
Leslie, I updated last week. When my last day gets derailed I don't get it tallied as soon as usual.
We've gotten more snow, and I travel this weekend so we'll see what happens.
Monday: 2.5 miles elliptical (20:45), .3 mile walked and 18 minutes weights
Tuesday: 2.3 mles elliptical (20:32... not much less time than yesterday?? Legs that tired?), 10 minutes abs/core, .3 mile walk
Wednesday: 3.45 miles (30:00) mostly easy run in overheated gym, .66 mile walk (2 x 5 minutes)
Thursday: 2.5 miles (22:18) elliptical, .3 mile walk, 10 minutes abs/core
Friday: SRD
Saturday: 3.52 miles progessive pace on the TM, .5 mile walk
Sunday: 8.6 miles running on the Discovery Park Loop Trail, then some walking around town later, probably almost a mile
Totals: 15.6 miles run, 7.1 miles elliptical, 3.1 miles walked, 38 minutes wts/abs (3x)
This latest development was a bit unexpected, it turns out the pin that was broken is not causing any problems, but the latest CT showed that my heel is not aligned properly with my foot, so they want to fuse my heel to my foot and then remove the broken pin at the same time, The good news is that the Dr. says this procedure will make running less painful for me, and help keep arthritis at bay in that part of my foot. Currently when I run, its painful for about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile, after that theres very little pain and my foot feels better the rest of the day, So I plan on running up until the next surgery ( sometime next year ) But for now I'm running anf feeling good doing it!
Jim - Soon you'll be the $6 Million Dollar Man!!
Thanks Leslie...
