At least no one will ever think that my early interest in triathlons had anything to do with it being before the days or rule 3 (page 11) requiring "covered torsos" and before wet suits started making everyone look like porpoises. <>bikini/bikini)>>>

      One day at a time

OK, I'll come clean. DH has always wanted to go to a naturist resort (what most people call nudist, lol), so I finally gave in. We went for a week last summer in Connecticut, and I had a blast. Isn't that weird? Big grin Of course, it helped that I was a good 20 years younger than the average age there. I don't think these places are going to be around that much longer, because younger folks aren't interested. Anyway, there was a mile race, so I tried it. That's when I found out that I CAN'T run without a sports bra, surprise, surprise. Later I tried running with JUST the bra, and it was a lot of fun. So you folks not reading this are the only ones who know about this, besides my running partner. My kids were at camp that week, and they think we were at a "textile" campground (I love the terms the nudists use!). That's my story, and I will deny every word of it.
This thread is worthless without pictures.

Theresa, no big deal. I met a pilot and became friends with him. He is a nudist and keeps asking me to visit one of those places with him. I dont know if I could do it. I mean it would take a lot of alcohol to get me to want to run around naked with a bunch of other naked people and I dont even drink. Laurie

Back in the day.....Or nights...Back in karaoke camp.....I was in a bar singing songs...It's kind of fuzzy...There were a whole lot of Michigan State Police...They all knew me by name...I was just having a little fun, but the cops were escorting me out. They were laughing too....Needless to say, they did the driving. Dead Seven years later, five of them sober, I was back in that town on business...I was senior member of the crew. That bar also had some of the best food in town. Generally, the crew picked where we ate and I was the money man. Two of the crew members asked where there was karaoke. My heart stopped. I do not remember the waitress at all...but she remembered me....an she was still pi$$ed. Seriously, after 7 years. She was still pi$$ed... At ME??? Smile "Ask him"..The temp in the room dropped. Of course the crew was looking at me. 50% had their jaws dropped. Shocked Surprised Confused "HE THINKS HE"S A SONG BIRD". Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Blush I kept looking at her, trying to remeber things. I left a too big tip...but Confused Shy Stay in school kids. Wink

Steve, what DID you do? Or was your singing just that bad? I remember my navy days. We were at school in Memphis for a month. My class partied Every night. One night we took two of the marine officers from the class to karaoke. We got one of those guys drunk and got him to sing Like a Virgin. Too funny seeing the prim and proper marine officers drunk singing a Madonna song. Laurie

The Charlie Daniels' Band was in town for one night only. I bought tickets as soon as I heard about it, and we and another couple went. In was in the municipal building, and the way the venue was set up, we were down in chairs on the floor, and the band was up on stage. I opted out of the seats up top 'cause you could never get a good view of the stage from there. We went to dinner, had a few drinks, and walked to the Muni. Get inside, we're in about Row 12. So the concert starts, and pretty soon Charlie's up there shakin' it and playin' that fiddle like it's his last night of freedom. I'm looking around and everybody's just sitting there bobbing their heads to the music. Come on! This is Charlie Daniels! Get on your feet! Well, I couldn't contain myself any longer and pretty soon was standing up and hootin' and hollerin' throughout the entire concert. I had a blast! Although I think I embarrassed and/or annoyed those around me. And I know I annoyed this one guy because a day or two later I'm in the grocery store in line to check out. There's me, one person in front of me, and a guy and his wife in front at the registered. The guy kept looking at me, and when they were about to leave, he says,"Have fun at the concert the other night?" I smiled, "Yeah! I had a great time! How about you?" "We were sitting right behind you." . . . . . "Oh." And they walked off. The clerk asks me what was wrong, I told him the story of the concert, that I refused to sit and bob my head with the rest of the head bobbers and had to get up and move. He says, "Well, isn't that what concerts are for?" Me, "Of course! And I had a great time!" Thankfully, I don't think I've seen him since that day.
