Here’s my tentative plan for the week. Two blisters, one of which got infected, have me tender-footed at the moment, so I’m playing it by ear:

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Holly, I did hit 40 miles last week but am going to take a little step back for a week or two. I'm getting there, and hope to be back for the long haul in a couple of weeks. Thanks!

            Not at it at all.

Hi there. I didn't know about this little Masters Group. I'm psyched to find it. Will be running my first marathon this Spring (Vermont)one month after my 41st birthday. I should be a ble to hit 40 mpw over the next two weeks and am obsessed with getting 2000 miles in 2009.

Quick post towards the end of the week... I don't think I'll get 40 this week with all the travel, but it'll be close! Monday thru Wednesday: travel snafus and late nights... no running (taper immersion therapy?) Thursday: 3.4 miles easy pace, hotel treadmill believe it or not... 8 pm run Friday: 6.1 miles, 8:08 pace on the sidewalk, perfectly flat Saturday: 2.4 miles, easy pace with some striders Sunday: 26.2 mile Disney Marathon! Totals: 38.1 miles and a doozy of a blister...

Yes Holly, that was tapering. Smile Thank you SO much for doing this. Every time I contemplate skipping a run, I think about my numbers for the week and must times it will motivate me to get out. Other times, I will cook dinner and relax. Big grin So, now the real taper begins:
