Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Well, thanks to a couple days off, looks like I need a free pass this week. I'm tempted to go out and run another couple miles, but I think maybe it's smarter to stick to the plan and not let some arbitrary number rule my running...
Thanks!

Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape...
Thanks Holly. I'll play.

Thanks, Holly. I'm back in this week ... that is, if elliptical miles count. The pain is almost gone, and I'm trying to maintain fitness so I can finish up the last 8 weeks of this training cycle fairly strong. My "stretch" goal of a sub-3 marathon is dead, but I'd still like to improve over my last one.
And Mike -- you are my idol! Big congrats!
MTA: 41.6 (mostly elliptical) miles

Hi Holly! I'm back from vacation! Umm...can I have a pass...please?
Thanks SubDood.
only 34 miles 2 day rest after race. What a hell of a 10k course they keep making it tougher. Glad I came out slow and ran the two first downhills slow. Past on every uphill and ran last downhill fast. Only Two old guys as fast as me. I beat one and one beat me. I have beat him before but now he is back in my ag again. shit I am going to have to lose 30lbs before I kick his ass in the apple festival 8k.

Road work again, while the warm(ish) weather lasts and while it keeps snowing, the trail is pretty much unrunnable.
A ten hour work day and six hours in the barn; no running for today. Yeah, I cut and pasted that from last week.
Geez, two Tuesdays and Wednesdays in a row with more work and horses than running.
10.2 miles
Got my butt over to the cemetery next to the office; it was pretty nice when I got out there, but by the time I finished it was getting a bit icy.
Back in the cemetery again, once again, nice when I started, but by the time I'd gone 6 miles it was starting to get scary. While trotting ever so carefully over one icy patch down a slope I slipped and when I hit I heard a pretty nasty crack come from the area of my left wrist.
12 miles
Well, it's confirmed, I cracked the radius in my left forearm about two inches above my wrist; I've opted to forego a cast, but oh geez do I need to be careful, if I fall again I'm going to be in trouble. Oh, yeah, and I ran a nice even dozen today (about .25 miles on the trail, that was pretty much a non-starter).
10.1 miles
More road work; can't wait for the trail to freeze again (or for that matter to thaw and dry a bit, which ever comes first).
