40s+ On the Run w/e 05/23/09 (Read 426 times)

Arla, here's hoping that your moms condition doesn't get worse. They can do so much now for heart problems so I'll be keeping her in my thoughts and hoping for a positive outcome. Jewels
But in the end, I'm more afraid of not trying, than failing. JJJessee

Arla, so sorry about the turn in your mom's health. Praying in agreement with the rest of this group for both of you. Glad you are getting in a few runs to keep yourself strong. Hopefully if she needs more care, you can find a place close to your home.

{{{{{Arla and Arla's Mom!}}}} Come back and vent whenever you need to. Runnerclay - You keep popping up here and there. It's like a nice little surprise every time. Big grin An hour of stationary cycling while continuing with "Dances With Wolves." Unfortunately, no more naked butt shots of Kevin Costner. However, I did get through the buffalo hunting scene. I love to watch horses run, and man, watching those guys ride those horses at break neck speeds is a beautiful sight. Well, my weekend is going to be full of housework and gardening - and it looks like very overcast, which is our usual summer weather here on the coast. Oh well, at least I won't be at work! Have a good one, peeps ~

Easy 3.1 with nice pickup at the end, kinda sucky in the middle and knees creaky at the start from climbing the ladder on my sprayer all day. These little after work runs are great in the winter after paperwork but a little sucky after being active outside all day. Rest tommorow run wise, mother nature will have to let me know tonite work wise.

Had a pretty good day in the sprayer. Winds were very light this morning so decided better get spraying early and hope to work the run in tonight and it worked out just right. For the first time all spring I feel I have things  kinda under control. My irrigated corn needs to be V2 growth stage to spray so thats next week and pecked around on the dryland all day, and got the bad stuff covered first thing.  Lynda started a couple irrigated pivots to try and soften the crust on the 2 I mudded in.

Leslie if you ever get to Deadwood SD, Costner owns a casino there. Its really cool,  decorated in ,how shall I say classy old west with lots of film memorabilia. No naked butts as I remember but then again I wasn't really looking. As a matter of fact the slot machines gave me a hundred in about 10 minutes.

                  Clay glad you popped in.

Hi Clay , nice to see you.

Jim-glad to see that you're caught up and soon heading to Co.? Shouldn't Cindy be gettin' home soon for that race?

Leslie-  some yardwork will do you fine while resting your ankle

Hot (83*) , tired run on the hills today. Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of the invasion of the "summer people" around here. We welcome them for the economy, but it sure gets crowded!

Well, I started the day with the intention of doing yard work, but got distracted by deciding to visit yard sales.  I can't remember the last time I took an entire Saturday off from running, with the exception of surgery.  I had a blast and bought some yard junk to sort of refurbish.  Found a chair without a seat that I painted bright red, and am hoping one of my pots will sit in the hole.  Found some sort of low heavy metal table thing-a-ma-jig with a flower design on top that I spray-painted bright yellow and will stick a pot on top of, an approximately 3 1/2 foot tall Greek looking column, and a really pretty vase that's about 3 feet high.  Right now the column is standing on our deck, stuck in between my hydrangea bush and garlics that I'll let go to flower.  I'm determined to make my yard look, if nothing else, at least interesting.

Tomorrow will be yard work day, with lots of digging planned.  Oh!  One of The Hub's acquaintances gave us a goat leg that we're gonna do up in the smoker.  Not so sure I'm looking forward to the outcome of that.
