    Mornin' everyone.

So, where are Ribs and TwoCat??

The only way I could get to 50 mi./week is if I include the miles I drive to work and the grocery store. I'm very happy when I reach 25-30 mpw on my workouts.

Congrats on more racing hardware, Aamos! How big is your trophy room? Congrats to DH on his successes over the weekend too.

Have fun working with the newbie, Mike.

I'm glad Rhoon is on the road to recovery. Enjoy the new shoes (you too, Evanflein).

Good news from the doc, Tselbes!

Another carpy night's sleep last night, so I was up and out before 4 this morning. 7.6 RW fartlek miles in 21F temps under clear skies and a near fool moon. I worked my little butt off on those fast miles, but I figured it's OK 'cause I'll be taking the next 2 days off - we're expecting snow/ice tomorrow morning, and heavy rain on Thursday morning, followed by temps near 60. Who is in charge of this weather??

    Have a greta Tuesday!

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

      Good morning jay

gotta watch out for that fool moon.

Do you think wildchild'd let me count

. . . the 10,000 RT miles I get to do to Japan?

      Mornin' everyone.

      Have a wonderful day all.

I won't as it is work, work, work and various meetings

      . . . all day long and the fall-out from yesterday's industry

. . . will preempt the call of the wild for more skiing, ice-skating,

. . .hiking and playing in the peace of the coastal range forests.

      .

However, thanks holly for helping it off to a joyful smiling start anyway.

Sorry I lost the smiley in an edit yesterday but please know

. . . you'd make anyone the happiest dad in the world.

It's too bad it doesn't always work out the way it should

. . . but you've more than made up for it and I'm glad

. . . to be one of your fans.

      .

ps erika - one of the people i met with is on the committee that your local representative and funding nemesis who wants a 60%+ cutback reports to from her subcommittee. Few seem to be able to figure out her extreme motives, especially against her home town.  Does she think she wants to be the next Governor Palin?  It's going to be tough no matter what but maybe more like 25% it seems.  Good luck.  Keep me up-to-date.

      Trails are hard!

For some reason, I can imagine Steve getting a series of texts something like those.  Something to look forward to.

        Amy--A second?!?  What happened?

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

Shoes...Erica, I have a pair of Brooks Racer ST's and love them. Almost the perfect all around shoe for me. From racing 5K's to running marathons, mid week long run. I've thought about the ghost and I've had really good luck with any pair of Brooks I have bought.

I did 7.2 miles with some tempo paces thrown in just shorter distances. I've strung some pretty nice weeks together and I'm beginning to notice the pay off. Feels good to be back in a grove. It's been a 3 year dry spell.

I brought in a platter of smoked meats to share with my lunch buddies today. Beef Brisket, Venison Tenderloin, Duck, St Louis style ribs and chicken thighs...Lots of comments about the smell of smoked meats that has filled the little kitchenette. My pay back to the Ops Planning dept and their sensy candles that smell like apple pie.

            Ha!!!

1.25 hrs of core/ST for me this a.m.  First time about 2 weeks.  I'm going to be sore tomorrow . . . .

Have a good one, friends ~~

Tet, those texts from your DD are priceless.  I laughed at Holly's comment.

Gorgeous moon this morning.   Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me.

5:15 am - 2.5 miles with a few walk breaks - being hyper careful about my knee.  I wanted 3, but easing into it.  I wrote out a 16 week training plan yesterday for the Wild Rogue Relay in June.  Gonna stick to it and as Nike says "Just Do It".

Then took DD to the orthodontist before work.

Then rode Gigi to work bike/bus/bike.  Will ride her all the way home (one hour and 15 minutes with generous hills) with Mr. Blue Eyes - that's his warm up then he will go do probably another 30 miles in the dark.  It's going to be dry all week, great for cycling.

Date night tomorrow is a ride home after work with MBE to his place for dinner.  I'm starting to think he is pretty lucky, having a girlfriend willing to do all this riding with him....

"During a marathon, I run about two-thirds of the time. That's plenty." - Margaret Davis, 85 Ed Whitlock regarding his 2:54:48 marathon at age 73, "That was a good day. It was never a struggle."

                  Hiya!

All I can say is, grampas are supposed to buy their GC ice cream.   Not to mention, their GC's dogs.

LOL, Steve, at the candle-meat scent contests.  We've actually had building meetings on the topic of smells.  .

I'm sure your toeses are almost posies, Posi.

                  He IS lucky, enke!

I bring a lot of my running bling to work and hang it around my cube.  It's my little socialist fist in the air against the man and bureaucracy.  I had a dentist cleaning today--the hygienist is a very active 70 year old who always like to follow what I've been running.  She really enjoyed the Gasparilla half medal, which is a skull showing teeth, including a gold one.

----I would gladly forgo medals for reduced race registrations

I realized that if I had taken a left turn at a point between miles 4 and 5 on the half marathon, I could easily have run past "St. Jetersburg," the home of Derek Jeter on Davis Island, a part of Tampa.   I did not, but I understand it's about the size of a Best Buy, with 2 (two)  3-car garages, 9 bathrooms, 7 bedrooms, pool, etc, etc.

---say, do you think we might be able to get it next year on a rent-a-home for vacation website? (He's retired now-on a fixed income.)

                  Image result for st. jetersburg

                  .

We've had two local marathons cut back to half marathons in the last few weeks.

Thought Shalane and Meg were beyond the beyond this weekend.  You can read about it below.

How come air fares aren't going down commensurate with the price of oil?

7 miles over to Lakes Park on a cloudy morning.  Prolly a little visit to the bridge tonight is in order.

What a great weekend for the Florida crew.  tet, it's a grandparents job to spoil grandkids and aggravate their kids -payback for when they were living under our roof.

This morning, it was in the high 30s and there was just a light breeze.  I planned on 3 miles as a reasonable distance in my come back.  About 2 miles, I began to think about adding another mile.  So, it was 4 miles at an 11:31 pace.

I got a call from my doctor setting 29 Mar for surgery on my other eye.  It looks like I've got about 5 weeks to run before going on the DL again.

A good day and good runs for all.

I just wanted to stop in and wish fatozzig a very happy 50th birthday!  Hope you kick a$$ in the new AG, Leslie!

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.

                        Hello everybody!

Way to go Tom!  It's nice to see you running again.  All that walking must have kept you in pretty good shape.

Happy birthday, Leslie!  I hope you had a great day.  Pretty cool birthday wish written in the snow from wildchild, huh?

I'm looking forward to seeing more notes from tet's DD.

Jay--I don't know how you keep going on such little sleep.  If I don't get, at least 7 hours, I feel like crap.

Yeah...I think MBE is a pretty lucky guy, too.  Tall guys with pretty blue eyes always get the hot chicks.  (I've never really liked tall guys with pretty blue eyes)

Slo--I'm looking forward to seeing how you do in Green Bay.  I don't remember--are you doing the full or the half?  You seem to be running really well.

Stump--I was going to ask Amy about that 2nd place finish, too--but, someday, I'm going to meet her--and I would hate to be slapped.

Another 40 minutes of getting wet, huh, TW?  Good for you.

Well, I went 10 miles, tonight some speed work thrown in the middle for fun.

By the way...are you sure you're 50, Leslie?

Okay--gotta go and make sure I get that 7 hours of sleep.  See ya!

Happy Birthday to our ultra goddess!

No running here. Tapering good since my sciatica has been barking at me for a few days.

                          Cheers to all,

                            on the beach. Great time.
