I always run alone, just because. There are some groups, and I could arrange to run with someone, but it's easier to just go run.

Mike, that's great about the kids getting into it for everyone. Good for them!

We never lock our doors, but then we're pretty rural, with 2 acre lots and neighbors along our road. Just never felt the need to lock up tight. Plus, we've had some law enforcement friends tell us that if someone really wants to get in, they can. If you have a lock and deadbolt, they'll just destroy your door/door frame and then your house will freeze up. We used to leave our vehicles in the driveway unlocked, but the bratty kids across the street years ago stole DH's Rayban sunglasses and some almost irreplaceable music CD's (old jazz discs, not in production anymore), so we do lock the vehicles.

10.1 miles today in what started as a light misty drizzle (mizzle?) but then stopped and was just overcast, so not bad at all. After a slower first mile, the other miles were all in the 8:20 to 8:30 range and felt good. I couldn't imagine a run like this a few months ago. Feels good to have that stress fracture nonsense behind me!

Dug the last row of potatoes tonight, German Butterballs. Nice spuds, will plant these again!

DW and I had a perfect day. We stopped at a foo foo coffee shop in Munising. Then we hiked to six waterfalls and out looks at the Pictured Rocks National Park.

Navigating through the back roads was harrowing without cell service. Now we know how Indiana Jones felt. After our last six+ mile hike, we hightailed it back to the cabin for warm clothing grabbing cross training.

We we spent two hours on a sunset cruise of the lake shore and saw three more waterfalls.

We we got back well after sunset then went rock collecting in hopes of finding Yooperlites. We found a glowing rock however the excitement faded after the glow was caused by algae. Oh well. One more day where DW didn’t string me up is a success.
