Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks, Holly! Here's this week's plan:

Sun 13.1mi (1:31) Manhattan half, +2.2mi wu/cd, +3.3mi later
Total: 56.5 miles
Ideal weather for Manhattan half today, low 40s, no wind.
I got my goal of qualifying for NYCM in 2019, so I should
not complain too much. My right hamstring started hurting
after mile 3, so I took it easier after that, and then there was
a very sharp pain in the last mile. Not sure what happened.
I hobbled to the finish, and then did a short cool down and
then I even went for an extra 3 miler later, to investigate.
The hamstring is definitely very sore, but the pain is sort
of dull now, maybe it was a cramp.
