For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

My weeks will look like this for a while as I'm building my base back up and still trying to avoid long runs over 10-12 miles.  If today and tomorrow go as planned, I will hit 2000 miles for the year, on Wednesday.    I decided not to make it wait until tomorrow.  First time ever getting to 2000!!!   I'm excited!

I was thinking about a cutback week, but I feel ok and the calendar is shaping up nicely this week, so I think I'll be postponing that cutback...

Congratulations on hitting 2000 again!    Last year I reached 1888.8, which was my highest.  I started the year thinking that I wasn't even going to try for 2000 this year, but then I went into ultra mode for a bunch of months.  Big grin
