Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

I'm thinking if I keep the hammer down for the work week I'll be able to hit 250 miles for January; and if I can keep doing that, I might just be able to hit 3,000 for the year (even though I've already set my 2014 goal at 2,400 miles).
10 miles
What a difference a day makes; we had a mini-thaw for a few hours today and the snow on the trail firmed up nicely. I was less tired after a quick ten miles tonight than I was after just the first four yesterday.
12 miles
Had my annual physical today and instead driving to and fro, only to have to workout later in the day, I ran. I figured if I dressed light, due to the 9°F OAT, I wouldn't be too sweaty when I got there; bzzzt, I'm sorry, that is incorrect!
8 miles
Left work a little late and had some hungry horsies waiting, so I cut my run on the snowmobile trail to only eight miles.
I ran in our local cemetery with the 4:45 and the 5:30 company group run folks for nearly 7 miles and then did the remainder solo. Nice to have some folks to talk with.
14.5 miles
The snowmobile trail was in decent shape tonight for all but about a mile, the weather was a balmy 35°F with no wind, and so I added a bit to the plan. I wish there was an emoticon with a headlight on the forehead.
17 miles
With tonight's and tomorrow's weather looking to be warm and rainy, I decided to make hay while the Sun shined; I donned a pair of shorts and headed for the land of snowmobiles. All was well for the first five miles or so, and then it started clouding up, by the 8.5 mile turn-around point it was getting dark and the temperature was dropping. By 10 miles I had to pull my sleeves down over my hands to keep them warm, and by about 14 miles it was snowing. Yeesh, what happened to the "Warm and Rainy" bit?
12.5 miles
The warm and rainy weather held off long enough to make down the trail and back while only picking up a minimal coating of mud.

Thanks Holly.
In again - looks like I'm adding track work to help out CR Jr in his quest to get some swag at nationals. Oh my aching legs.

Well, dunno if anyone remembers me, but I was sort of a regular in here a couple years ago.
I've had some rough medical stuff, but I've finally gotten back up to 40/week, so I thought I'd sneak back in here.
Thanks!

Hmmm, must be that new math. Or the cold weather is affecting my brain ... or maybe the mileage?
THANKS, shipo! Not sure what happened, but I'll be sure to fix it. I would've cheated myself out of almost 11 miles.
