Holly, good to hear you've got a good doc, sounds like she practices conservative approaches and helps you heal yourself. Gotta love that.

Enke, as they say, you were looking for a job when you found that one (or this one, whichever one). Those negatives are pretty bad though, really. Hope things turn out well, and good luck to MBE on his ride!

Tom, I missed that it was a big fire, as in part of the town? Wow, glad they're making progress.

Tet sounds like he's considering streaking! Will wonders never cease.

RCG, I hope it all goes well. This Friday? Wow, that is coming right up. Hey, by the time your hip is all healed up your foot will probably be all socialist again anyway! Sometimes all they need is time (I keep telling myself).

Larry, good job on getting out there in the heat! That's always a draining experience.

Although... I'd love to be out running in our heatwave! We're in day #2 of what's expected to be a three day heat wave, and I've been staying off my feet as much as I can. Although I took a walk today. But... I figured my 200 mile July goal is already DOA so what the heck. I've got a 5 mile (8k) race on Saturday that I think I can get through, and then the biggie on the 24th that I entered yesterday so I wouldn't back out. I'm too cheap to not run once I've paid.  So, I'll walk when I need to and hope to finish in not too horrible of a time. The problem is, it's the downhills that really bother my foot and this race is a LOT of hard downhill. Normally it's why it's my favorite race. Oh well.

No run (again) for me today but I did walk about 2 miles at lunch in the full sun and 80+ degrees in my work pants. Gotta remember to bring shorts....

No running today - back to work after a fabulously relaxing vacation!!

Rosie - prayers your surgery goes well and gets you back out running

Enke - hope something better comes along in the job hunt

Erika - I have to read back, but do you have an ailment as well now?

Holly - hoping you heal up quickly too

Nancy - I am so sad I won't be riding the Rosie train with you this year!!

So far I have backed out of pretty much everything I signed up for this year -- except at least was able to do the bike leg of Patriot 1/2 Iron!!

Recently transferred my coveted Beach to Beacon number to a friend, backed out of Reach the Beach Relay, and plan on deferring MCM - no way will I be able to train for a fall marathon. I am hoping to still be able to complete the Rev3 Oly Tri end of August -- have been able to get thru 3-4 mile runs without too much pain afterward so really hoping it improves and the 10k run portion of the tri is doable.

Hope you are all enjoying some summer days despite the injuries that ail us!!

Good luck with the job hunt, Enke.  Never an easy thing.

Holly - It sounds like your doc has you on the right track to a healthy back and leg.

Jay - I got to wield my power again today when, during our team meeting, our dept secretary brought up a prospective client who wanted to file a registration form tomorrow and only wanted a consult with an attorney.  Jeff: "Make the appointment." Me: "Wait. We agreed no more appoints for you until after next week so you can get caught up." Jeff: "Tell him $450 for the consult." Me: "No.  No appointments.  Wait.  Okay.  Why are wanting to see him when you have this pile (HUGE) of clients to deal with?" Jeff: "Make money."  Me: "So you're going to spent at least an hour and a half with this guy for no more reason than $450 when you have all this work sitting here waiting for you?"  He looked at me for a few beats then agreed it wasn't a good idea.  Cripes!  This guy is gonna kill me!  . . . Or I'm gonna kill him.  He's a really nice, sweet guy, but he has no clue about organizing his time efficiently.  *sigh*  I take a lot of deep breaths with him.

And on that note . . . . 4 miles with 5 x 1 min hard yesterday, 30 min of stat biking this morning, 4 miles tomorrow morning, work, and transcription at home.  . . . . I can't wait to be gone next week!

        Later, dudes and dudettes ~

Holly,  I like your sports med Dr.

Go with your gut feeling Enke.

Long meetings cross training. A fella was hired to help me out. Two weeks ago, he saw a spider in the warehouse and has not been back in it yet. We need to start issuing employees with paintball equipment.
