Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

I was in San Francisco all week, and it was raining almost all the time. Mon through Thursday runs were at 5am, in driving rain and wind. I did not run on Friday and on Saturday the rain finally stopped! Just in time for the 50k trail race. It was beautiful, in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, starting and finishing on Rodeo Beach. Very hilly 6,580' of elevation gain, and there was still a lot of running water and slippery mud on the course, I fell two times.
