Yoga and knitting jokes!  What a wild bunch here Big grin

Satiisfied AND tired. 14 mile, I guess a wave type run, with miles 6,8,10 and 12 at MP-20 seconds. Mile 14 was supposed to be also but with athe last half mile uphill into a raw 15 mph headwind, the effort gave MP for that mile.  The idea of this run was to manage pace on tired legs and after 10,12 and 14 mile days, tired it was!  Cool 40's with real feel in the 30's. perch, good to hear from you and about your recent marathon and half.  ribs, nice 15K with 1st in AG.  opie, congrats on the marathon PR.

Nice long runs for Tramps, opie, and perch.

This morning it was about 40° and there was some wind.  I got in 8 miles at a 10:59 pace.

A good day and good runs for all.

Opie - Congratulations on the PR!!

6 easy-paced miles for me today in 39 degrees.

Afterward, the day was spent on DD's soccer, followed by mucho errands.  We stopped at a thrift store to get stuffed animals for DD's school project ( I will spend the evening sewing together various parts to make an animal that is a cat/dog/frog/monkey) and I was surprised to find two pairs of shoes and 4 shirts for work.  Sometimes those places can be a gold mine if you look.

        Off to start sewing....

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Holly, I love thrift stores!  Probably  because I'm cheap...

Congrats to Opie on your PR!

Tramps, great song, and nice long run!

Like Slo, I also had the first run of the season in below-freezing temps.  It was only about 25 ⁰ F on my 5.5 mile run with the dogs - they both got frosty eyelashes and muzzles because it was foggy and snowing lightly.   I guess if I lived in Canada it would have been a more-miles-than-degrees run, since it's -3 ⁰ C.  I've had a fire going in the wood stove all day, and other than going out for a run, I've just been hanging out by the fire reading.

I hammered down the trail, passing rocks and trees like they were standing still.

. NO PAIN for first time in over a month. Definitely a satisfied Saturday!

Just popping in to say congratulations to Opie on the PR!

Tomorrow I head up to a HM with my DW and some friends.  Should be fun if the rain holds off!

A good 8 miles with Karen late this morning.  My legs feel SO much better than yesterday and Thursday.

well, I know I'm out of my league with the yoga and knitting jokes, but had to pipe in anyways to say congrats to Ribs on his race and to Opie on his new PR!  How much time was that off your previous PR?

Just a short 3 mile run for me this morning. as Leslie mentioned we said good bye to Jade yesterday. It was her time. We wanted to try and go through the wknd so we all had more time with her, but that would have been for purely selfish reasons and the most unselfish thing we could do was to help her move on. she was so uncomfortable and could barely walk anymore. It hurt my heart more to see her struggle just to get comfortable than it did to say goodbye.

tomorrow I'll run long - maybe 10 or so. Might head over to the HS and do some intervals. we'll see.

Some of you have seen this on Facebook so pardon the duplication. I have no photos from the marathon here in St. George because I was busy racing and got a P.R. of 4:08:40!!!

After starting in 2002, it's special to still be garnering PR;s seven years later (marathon no. 21) but even better yet to try and to try and to try and to try and get such satisfaction three years later. I have a feeling there are a few more in your future too.

ps - the feelings and memories of such strong running will last forever.

                    what's next? Anything out here?

pps - did you recommend today's heading to mari?

Woohoo Opie on your PR marathon! Well done, fren, you had it coming. Well done.

I'm out of touch with the yoga and knitting jokes, but I did get the "lumber" comment. Heh.

I always get a little satisfaction from Carolyn having snow and such before we do. Heh again. But... I know that won't last. And she'll be able to do the RAL thing in Denver when I'm locked into -40 temps this winter, and so it goes. But, I'll be heading to the gym this winter with DH as much as I can, so that's all good.

9.1 miles today on a somewhat hilly route. Felt pretty strong throughout this run; I'm crediting all the hot and hilly runs I did in So Cal last week. But still, I've got this nagging shin soreness that's bothering me, and I'm icing it now. Hopefully I can take care of this with icing and ibu (haven't tried either up to now) and some reduced mileage. It would really piss me off to have to take time off for another mysterious injury (I have no idea what happened here....). Oh well. Temps in the 40's, rain this morning, should be about the same tomorrow. At least Carolyn gets all the snow so far.

No run for me today. Had a great flight though...

Need to get in a longish run to re-establish the weekend long run. Maybe tomorrow.

Hugs to you and the family, Tammy.  That's a hard thing to do.

Henrun - so glad for you and the painfree run.  How'd Marj do in her half?

Opie - Woo Hoo! Greta job.  Wasn't anyone else there to take pictures?

Ribs - you make running and racing sound so easy, I'm jealous.  I'm also jealous of TheSaint getting to work in a yarn store!  I have a whole book of knitting jokes/stories... At Knit's End

OM - sleeping is good, you must need the rest.  The YMCA has a yoga class that I want to start attending.  I hope it's at a time that works out for me.

Troy - Do you always do a long run even if you're not training for a race?  I'm not sure what to do now that the half is done.

Hi Holly, we have more thrift stores downtown than regular clothing stores.  Actually, we have more ethnic grocery stores than anything.

Hi Perch - glad to see you back here too along with Lyndenrunner.

tomselbs - Are you training for a race?  I think you'd be a good running partner for me.

Twocat - You aren't racing that half are you?

Well it was a satisfying Saturday for me too.  I was actually home for a change.  I got a new weather station gizmo that MrStarr hooked up.  It said 51, but apparantly the Wind speed wasn't hooked up yet.  It actually felt like 43 (NWS).  Sunny skies are always a mood lifter for me. At 5 pm I put a pan of apple crisp in the oven and then tried to run the lake in less than an hour!  I made it with a few minutes to spare.  I was too tired to cook so baked potatoes and grilled pork was just as good as the recipe I was going to try, stir-fry with pea pods.
