Week 7
Another record week of mileage last week -- 73.6 miles. The plan gets me up to 80, I think, so more records (hopefully) to follow.
Mostly treadmill miles due to winter in Minnesota.
OK, last week was actually the first regular week that I went over 40 miles in a loooooooong time, so here goes the second. Since this is also the second to last week before my half on 12/29 AND since I will be at 6000ft this weekend, I might scale the long run back a little... but just a little!

Hey there, I figure since I've been back over 40mpw the past two weeks, I'm good and solid to finally post here again. Last week was 46 miles, and I'm currently in the building phase (marathon is mid-March). I get my schedule from my coach on Wednesdays lately, so I'll update the specifics when I know them. Thanks!

IBleedUnionBlue - thanks for stepping in for me...I hate to admit it, but I totally spaced it this week! Monday I had so much to do before work and then had such a busy day I just lost track of where we were in the week. So I appreciate the help.
Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Ummm...Holly would give me a pass this week...what are my chances with you?
Hey--how do you paste in here, now?
Holly - No problem - you are welcome.
Mike E - Yes, Tis the season for free passes.
My plan for the weekend is unclear but I'm in for 40+ no matter what. It's funny to think of 6-7 miles as a short run when it used to be 3-4, but that's my mindset now.
Monday.........short easy run.............................................done-6.4 miles
Tuesday........longer fartlek run.........................................done-9.7 miles
Wednesday...short easy run.............................................done-6.5 miles
Thursday.......short easy run......................................done-Fartlek 6.5 mi.
Friday............short easy run......................................done-Progression 5.4 mi.
Saturday.......a.m. short run; p.m. Pub Run, if we get out of the pub!...done-5.4 mi.Sunday.........maybe long run...extended family obligations kept me from running
Total.............about 50 miles.............................................39.7

Fat old man PRs:
I've been hesitant to put a plan up for this week given all of the snow we've had in the forecast in addition to end of year work pressures. Now that it looks like I might have a reasonable shot at hitting 40 miles for this week, I thought I'd post the plan.
? miles
8 miles
We got over 14" of snow yesterday; fortunately the cemetery was reasonably well plowed with only a few spots of ice.
Work pressures plus another 8" of snow conspired to keep me indoors all day.
5 miles
The cemetery was downright scary with all of the ice; I bailed after five miles.
A deliverable at work once again prevented me from getting out.
Worked from home today and managed to sneak out for 8 miles on a local snowmobile trail; the snow was very well groomed and while more challenging than running on firm dirt, the run was quite enjoyable.
Yesterday's firm groomed snow has given way to a mushy/slushy surface of two to six inches of slop; not optimal footing. I think today's run took a lot more out of me than the 17-miler I ran two weeks ago.
6.7 miles
Started out on my regular trail but the conditions were so slushy and even deeper than yesterday I bailed after only 2.5 miles and found a nice road I've never been on before. By the time I got back to my car I'd logged just enough to hit the 40 mile threshold for this week.
40.2 miles
Since I ran, today, I came in here to post my run...but I can't figure out how to copy my chart over.
Anyway...6.8 miles for 6.8 total for the week.
Mon 10 mi (1:24) treadmill
Tue 10 mi (1:20) treadmill
Wed 10 mi (1:21) treadmill
Thu 6.6 mi (0:53) outside and 5.5 mi (0:43) on treadmill
Fri 10.2 mi (1:17)
Sat 9.7 mi (1:30)
Sun 14.1 mi (1:59)
Total: 76 miles (10 hrs 28 min)
