    Mornin' everyone.

    Thursday’s thunderous workouts:

Stumpy (3.1 morning miles; speed had departed)

    RunnerKSA (2.6 pre-FL-flight TM miles)

Dave (ARC trainer & weights at the gym)

Tramps (slogged sleepily through a sluggish 10 miles)

Pfriese (13 miles w/10 at MP on the lake trails before the storms arrived)

Catwhoorg (6 miles on lying, then strong & fit legs)

C-R (5 lunchtime miles, feeling better and faster)

Tomwhite (90 min of fly casting, plus 40 min of pool running with letters)

Holly (4.1 TM miles with a pulled back/hip muscle)

CMDan (3K time trial in 12:55 in 88° weather)

Twocat (9 miles in Austin, TX in heat, humidity, hillage and sun)

Flats (nighttime 10K in a downpour that wasn’t supposed to be there)

    Mariposai (4 afternoon miles)

    Jay (5.65 RW miles)

Tramps, Tinariwen makes some very interesting music. I don’t know that I could take too much of it, but a taste was fascinating.

Me thinks that Fatozzig and Holly need to start their own firm, with these two ‘wicked smaat’ paralegals running the show. Meanwhile, good for you for standing up for yourself, Leslie, and good for you for getting the heck out of there, Holly, and being productive and missing the Team Meeting. Did you find that cheese?

Interesting conversation with your legs, Catwhoorg…

You’re right, C-R; giving yourself adequate time to recover really does work.

Looks like good eats in Austin, Twocat.

So sorry about the carpal tunnel stuff, dg. I hope you can get over it.

Mariposai, 8 hr. meeting are killer! I’m glad you made time for a run yesterday.

It was raining at J o'clock this morning, and the weather site was reporting wind gusts in the 20s. So I decided to stay in Twocat's good graces, and stayed in to catch up on some reading. When it finally lightened up, it was still raining. but there was barely any wind at all. I must have the same inaccurate weather guys as Flats.

Wishing good luck, tailwinds, and big grins to this weekend's racers:

04/22 TammyinGP - Lost Creek Trail Run 30k, Prospect, OR

04/22 Catwhoorg - Glow it up Blue 5K  (Despite being a glow run its a fast course and so I am going for a PR)

04/22 spinach - Earth Day Half Marathon, St Cloud MN

    Have a greta Friday!

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

5.2 beautiful, flat miles in Naples, Florida!  Now stuck in meetings all morning.

Out there running since dinosaurs roamed the earth

4 miles this morning then a few sets of a core workout. That's 4 or 5 day in a row of doing that stupid core workout. Shouldn't that be enough to see major improvements?  I don't see much difference.

        Trails are hard!

I'm pretty sure it's the sixth day that you see it, Dave.   Hang in there.

Too bad it was a SRD today.  45° and a nice steady rain is tough to pass up.  Not.

Happy weekend, all.  I think our beer pairings dinner may be canceled for this Sunday.  The event was deleted off FB, but still shows up on the restaurant website.   Guess a phone call may be in order.  Bummer.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

            ========

            oh yeah

3- 20-min Xbike standing days this week

            I forgot to post

trying to give the Non-Operative leg a rest before the trip

            PoolRun later today

            after

            the thunder stops

..nothing takes the place of persistence.....

The Hub celebrates 6 years of sobriety today.  We had a really nice talk last night about the before and after.  Sunday we'll go down to Singing Trees where he was in rehab for 3 months and celebrate by attending the noon AA meeting and the hot dog feed afterward.

Tet - Interestingly, The Hub and I are started to talk about where we will eventually move for "retirement," although I doubt we will ever be able to completely retire.  California is far too expensive to consider . .. but then again the thought of putting our house on the market and having to keep it top notch clean for viewing is almost more than I can comprehend.   I don't see us moving, though, until he gets to the point where he's no longer physically able to do his job.

It's beautiful here today . . . but the rain comes back tonight, goes away tomorrow, then back Sunday for 5 days.  *sigh* I won't complain about the rain, I won't complain about the rain . . .

              Enjoy ~~

Leslie huge, (hugh) congratulations to you both!   throw in some hugs too.    this makes me smile.

tw... that was fun.     ...  awwww,  Munch...     & awww... so many others!      ok, Maggie.  I couldn't remember her name.  I do remember some of the games you shared.      will ask again, what was your alternate name suggestion for Claire?  I believe it was their second choice?

I've missed almost a week, so have to ask when it your trip w/your crazy brother?      take water.

thanks J,  & Leslie!   funny thing is I start pt Monday at a new place, but I already have a list of things for her, still, will see if this can be included.

I do have pertinent books & lots of related experience to draw upon.  (brief sigh, then a perspective shifting turn of the kaleidoscope!  )

J, I really enjoyed your intro, & your Boston recap.

did anybody else smile when J said he 'got up early'??

can we make the fines higher for wind than rain?

5.03 miles this morning in the wind.  mini hillage.    mini repeats.  garmin said, for one of them.. 9:35 best pace.  9:22 average pace, 8:35 av. moving pace, (which is the one that fits the time & distance).   ??

                    happy friday!

                    C-R

Is Ribs still the fine collector in here?

Only had time for 5k at lunch. Too many phone calls.

                      Congrats to your hub Leslie!

Quick question before I have yet another phone call - I'm racing an 8k tomorrow and it's supposed to rain. What's the ruling on that? Fine or not?

                      Cheers.

I believe that TC has offered absolution for goal races in the rain on previous occaisions.  But in most cases you would be better off asking forgiveness rather than permission.

                          Afternoon all.

I was able to run 7 miles in between rain storms at noon today. Thankful not to have to pay a fine for running in the rain.

Congrats to you & your DH, fatozzig. That's a big accomplishment for both of you.

                          Have a great weekend.

5 on the trails today. My legs felt like Jello from yesterday's 3k time trial. Damn, I'm getting old.

I'm multi-tasking now. My call is a bit boring and I'm not needed for a short time.

That's funny but this strategy hasn't worked out so well in my few years on this planet.
