Garmin AHR calculated by "Mode" - Resting HR? (Read 163 times)

BlazinCajun

Noticed that the Garmin calculates average HR through the Mode Statistic by viewing several HR data outputs. When calculating resting HR I noticed that when I view my watch in the morning the HR on my Garmin is higher than just before I wake. The data below includes the lowest HR values through the Mode and equal range of HR values above the Mode. The entire population included 218 (02:49:25 period) values and I included 121 values. Lower HR values occur by the slowing down of the heart during rest; but, higher HR values occur by many other stimuli (turning, dreams, temperature, breathing, etc.). Looking at the data below what could the resting HR be calculated as. AVG_HR below is calculated through progression.
