Welcome! I’m still trying to balance the leg-weights vs. running myself. Timing is everything. If only I could figure that out.

Here’s my tentative plan for the week, assuming the weekend pain in my knee goes away. We’re going out of town for the weekend early Saturday morning, so I’m doing my LR on Friday instead (getting up at O-Dark-Thirty to get it in before work).

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Ok.....got some of this moving business out of the way. It's time to run baby !

Hmmmm. kids are in farm camp which means a heavy XT week for me and running will be what running will be. It will be around 45 miles I am guessing, maybe more if my Personal trainer doesnt kill me tomorrow. We're kind of friends and I think he will try his damndest to kill me. I am just a little scared.
MTA: good sweet lord. How can I run for 2 hours but be dead after 30 seconds of whatever that insanity my PT dreamed up was
depends on degree of death
hopefully 10ish+XT

Well Holly, lets see if I came be a little more prompt this week. I'm going to start right out and put in my schedule.
thanks again.
Mon: 8 miles - 8.0 miles at a nice aerobic pace with a couple of faster paced miles thrown in. Legs still feel tired, so I'm not pushing it. Luckly enough I have a deep tissue massage this afternoon.
Tues: 10 miles - 10.5 miles, nothing faster than 8:00 pace, nice and steady. legs are feeling better, but, still a little tired. It does take a couple of days to recover from a deep tissue massage..
Wed: 15 miles - 9.4 miles good aerobic paced run with some faster bits up to MP. Legs feeling better, but not ready for 15 miles yet. Lets see what tomorrow brings.
Thurs: 6 miles - 10.0 aerobic paced miles. ok run. now for a couple of shorter days.
Fri: 6 miles - 5.0 miles at a nice recovery pace
Sat: 5 miles - 7.0 miles slow and easy, right hip still tight. keep on stretching
Sun: 18 miles with some at MP - 17.2 miles around a 0.29 loop track including 6 miles @ 7:40 pace. stopped a few times to stretch out the hip, felt good though. stopped a little short of the goal when 6 ladies arrived with 4 strollers and took up the width of the track (it narrow). didn't say anything as its their right to be there too. besides I was tired.
Total: 67.1 miles

Just so jammed up this week with work etc ... 8k on Sat -- shooting for a sub 31:00 [smart race being the real goal.] Starts at the end of my street -- bunch of buddies run it ... DW running it ... gaggle of kids on the beach afterwards -- beers and BBQ -- one of my favorite days of the year.
Taking it light for W-F ... may total out close to 40m ... but likely need a pass this week. Next week it's back to the grind --- 13 weeks until WIneglass.
I think I have a shot at a Top 10 finish Sat and certainly an AG award -- we shall see!
Total = 28.8
8k 0n SAT = 33:23 ... I just melted. Heaved at mile 3 and again at the finish [which scared the volunteers - HS kids scatter]
2012= under-goaled
It's this amazing place that the teachers at her Montessori run. They live on a farm and they turned part of the farm into a camp for us suburban types. Its for little kids (3-9), but they milk cows and goats, gather eggs and ride horses and work in the garden and feed the animals (they have sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, horses, cows, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and maybe something else) Tractor rides, hay mazes, play in the creek, music on "rhythm hill", stories in a real teepee, crafts, etc. And best of all it is from 9-4 for a whole week!
And normally I do legs on wednesday which is the same day I do my medium long and it is no problem. But adding in those exercises I hadnt done in many many months plus a faster than normal medium long killed me.
Thanks Holly.

26.2 miles spread out over 6 days. That included a 11.4 mile run on Saturday - 12.8 miles the other 5 days. I purposely have been running short and (mostly) slow in an effort to rest up and get the mojo back. I'm going to do this for another week or so probably. (The legs are feeling pretty good!) Bill
