Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly ... Great Running lately BTW
Last Good Week of training and going to get my 50 Miles this week. Should have been Peaking above 50 by now but ca't do anything about the past.
Legs / Body/Health actually feel good today for the First time since before Erie Half two weeks ago. Its Go Time!
20 Days Till Columbus ..... Please ohio weather gods give me a nice crisp October Ohio day. Last year Columbus started at like 40 degrees and ended at 55 I think, which would be just perfect.

My right glute and hip really hurt during the 2nd & 3rd mile, then was pretty much tolerable for the rest of the race and I actually had my best mile at about mile 10 (5:55) but knew I couldn't maintain that mad pace for three more miles.

Thanks Holly. My daughter's wedding is Saturday so I'll need to rearrange things a bit.
Not at it at all.
Breger and BuckeyeChamp - will you be staying overnight in Columbus the night before?
Yes ... Saying at the DoubleTree which I think is about 1.5 blocks west of start down by the river. Then maybe only 4 blocks north to the finish.
So good location for family to send me off and then can go back eat breakfast, etc come back at and see glimpse at mile 12 (could also stroll over and see me at mile 9 but wont push it), Get back to hotel /pack etc and short walk to celebration village.
I did same thing at Cleveland, despite living only 20 minutes away and worked out well, Its nice to be able to hangout at hotel and then just head over 15 - 20 min before race. Columbus is 2.5 hr drive so that would be an early wakeup.
How about you?
Columbus Weather:
Only 16 Days left .... Loving those Nighttime Lows as thats the Key to the early start. To me it wont be able to be cold enough and I am not going to over dress! I want to be freezing at the start of race!
OK .... Last year it was pretty cold at beginning .. Breger you may want to bring some old throw away hat/gloves/shirt to wear while witing in corral (Being a fla freeze baby and all), which gets fairly crowded pretty early. Last year I got down around 6:55AM and was no one in corrals ... went down 1 block from start for porta pottyline and by time I got back like 10,000 people showed up at once crammed in the corrals. Not too mention the Gear check truck was a complete zoo with 1000 people mobbing the 1 gut they had working the check - in. Ended up the Mob just started winging bags from as far as they could throw then onto the back of the truck ... Lucky I got out alive.

BuckeyeChamp - I'm staying overnight with Dg at her brother's house. Not sure where that is, but she said I think only a couple miles from the start. I will get the logistics when time gets closer. It's about a 90-minute drive for me to Columbus.
And I always have throwaway stuff for a marathon start: jersey gloves, arm warmers (soccer socks with the toes cut out), thrift store jacket. I don't like to be cold while I wait.
