    Mornin' Masters,

It was still dark out when I headed out this morning, time change or not. I got in 3.6 EZ miles in 24° temps. I was still achy from yesterday's race and the afternoon's yard work, and today's workout was just to get me loosened up so I could do a really good round of stretching, which I did.

Another busy day today, starting with a trip to the transfer station to get rid of a load of stuff, and I'm heading there right now.

    Have a greta Sunday.

    Jay

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.

Thanks for the start, Jay. Congrats on the race

Great race pics in yesterday's thread!  Congrats to everyone.

Quickadder--crown molding's tricky.  Are you coping?

moebo--good for you; glad it went well. Sadly, not an option for me. As my sports doc put it, something like, "Don't think 'tear,' think shattered windshield." I'm not supposed to run at all but I'm playing it by ear and maintain at least some minimal miles; so far so good. This whole situation is why I started cycling  instead.

Be careful around holy water. It burns like he!!

The great start of the year by Buffalo has faded away and now they back to their expected selves. T

They have a good shot at a win against the Caps tomorrow. Our entire 2nd line is out with injuries, we're plugging holes with 5 rookies, we still haven't figured out which of our youngsters is a starting goalie (or if we have one), we've lost 3 in a row now, and we lead the league in OT losses.

tet--gotta pay attention to those OT figures, too, not just W and L.  At the end of the day, they often prove to be the difference.

It was nice to have a little earlier light so I could ride with less traffic this morning. Chilly in the upper 30s at the start, low 40s by the time I finished. It takes me a little while to remember how to dress for this kind of weather on the bike but I did okay today; could have used some long pants but wasn't terrible.  31 miles with the sun finally breaking through the clouds as I finished up.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

      Be safe. Be kind.

So I have to know—actual interest or Steve level pun?

Late start for anything movement related. DW is off for a few days to Rochester to try and visit her dad. He’s now 98 and reality is not his frequent companion   He does have some interesting worlds he visits, but also more and more agitated.

Need a fast half for late fall.  Then I need to actually train for it.

After a few attempts at coping in a crooked old house, my present go-to method is miter saw and joint compound 🙄. I admire anyone that can make it work

Don't we all?!   Thanks for the start Jay.  Great racing yesterday, and the "meet-up" pics were an added bonus.  Y'all are very photogenic!

I've been MIA for a while, and just spent the last 4 days with my 3 grandsons while their parents were on a work trip/mini vacation.  The conference was held at WDW in Orlando.  Needless to say, the boys were VERY unhappy when they found out mom and dad were going to the Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios without them!  They didn't have school Thursday or Friday, so I took them out to eat, went cosmic bowling, and "bended" the rules on the amount of time they could have on their XBox.  We all survived, and - most importantly - still like each other!

I got up early (well, not Jay o-clock early) and drove over to our golf course.  I walked 18 holes and had my IPhone in my pocket.  Got some amazing shots of the sunrise coming up and the shadows were just fantastic.  A good 5.1 miles up and down some pretty substantial hills in around an hour and 15 minutes, with stops for pictures included.  It was 42 degrees which is almost unheard of for this area on November 7.

A great day to rake, clean up the garden and not think about Aaron Rodgers

              Have a great Sunday everyone.

supposedly, crown molding is an artform only capable specialists can do well. I've been lucky and never had a problem, other than a few dyslexic reversals of the miter when cutting. My Pro Tip: fast setting painters caulk for gaps between the molding and the wall/ceiling and bad joints! Use a putty knife to make the caulk look like an extension of the molding/wall. The Alex Fast Dry is paintable, too.

Thanks, Jay, and brrrr.  I delayed getting out this morning until it got to the mid-40s, and then proceeded to overdress, once again.  It was really a gorgeous morning.  Drove over to a close path but it's pretty hilly.  Had some great new music that was recorded in 2017 by one of the lawyers I met this week at the conference.  His name is Keith George and his band is fantastic.  It's Texas country sound, although he lives in West Virginia.  He spends a fair amount of time in Texas.     Anyway, helped the 5 miles go by, hills and all.

I have a mid-day meeting at church and then we are going to a service tonight that has great choral music and honors the departed.

Catch y'all later, and yes, Steve is in a class of his own, although there are very clever folks here in our group.

                    Painted crown molding?  That's cheating.

I tackled coping exposed wood crown molding in our first house in NH. Like so many DIY projects, by the time I finished I'd gotten fairly proficient at it; along the way, not so much.  Of course, I've never had to do it again either; another feature of so many DIY projects.

                    not think about Aaron Rodgers

I laughed when I first saw this.

                    (Sorry, I couldn't help myself. )

Glad you're well, I was wondering about your absence recently.

Exactly the caulk I'm using! DW insisted I paint the crown molding to match the rest of the trim, so it is getting painted.

Tramps is correct in saying that by the end of a DIY project, the level of proficiency is what it needed to be at the outset.

                        Another busy day today . . .

Jay - glad things are back to normal soon quickly after such a nice, very nice RW'ing yesterday, including event's first RW honors, etc.

tet--gotta pay attention to those OT figures, too, not just W and L.  At the end of the day, they often prove to be the difference.

Tramps - Thanks. I saw "G" as the first column on the standings I checked yesterday and have seen "OT" before.  However, what difference does it make if the win, or loss, is in an overtime or not?

ps - however, as long as Ovechkin is in the line-up, shouldn't the Caps be okay, especially against - don't tell Dave - that other team they are going to play tomorrow?

                        Painted crown molding?  That's cheating.

                        Tramps - exactly that's what I thought.

Use little finishing nails to close the gap, . . . or live with the gaps.

Seattle sports - after UW Fuskies and Kraken produced such disappointing typical results yesterday losing 26-16 and 5-4, respectively, in games that, fortunately, went so late I couldn’t stay awake late enough to watch the full measure of the carnage but it didn’t matter as, after the Kraken started the game by scoring two points in less than a minute on their way to 120 points or more in the one-hour game, they only scored 2 more in the next 59 minutes but, even if I did try to stay up to watch it, no matter what I did to get it going again, our nearly 20-yo little Coby, rabbit ears, tv shut down and wouldn’t turn on again so, thanks to the $50 covid gift cards we each got for our booster shots yesterday, we’ll go out to Fred Meyer today for a replacement so I can watch some of the football games while on inside domestic duties this afternoon, especially since the Seahawks are on a bye week so another Seattle team can’t lose today.

Jeanne - maybe without the “I-am-immunized” Aaron Rodgers at QB, the Packers will lose for the first time since opening day and then two losers can meet when the Seahawks come to town next Sunday but I doubt it.

ps - parents going to DisneyWorld, Magic Kingdom, etc. without kids?

Do they watch Hallmark holiday movies too?

Seattle running leafing - on the brighter side, woke up at 5:30 am on bedside clock radio to continuing rain but, since, for the first time since before the rainless four months of summer started on June 13, I’ve had a couple of days this week of missing the 10,000 steps I like to get, especially now that I found out Steve does too, so got garbed up for some circuits on the Hillside while I can listen to a 6-7am repeat of the Scandinavian Hour music I like on the weekends, . . . only to turn on my gadget’s GPS on the way out and find out it was only 4:30am so did penitence squeegeeing the yard of all the leaves the rain’s brought down, used a 4' rebar to secure an upright stance for a potted fir the wind’s been pushing over, etc.,

I’ll start trying to keep up to Steve again tomorrow, . . . in steps, not puns.

Surly - The Hub will be at the Ducks-Beavers game.  He's pretty excited.

I decided last night to do a stationary bike ride today instead of a 10-mile trail run.  My legs still got a good workout without putting strain on my heel.  The Hub asked how many miles riding equals 10 miles of trail running.  I have no idea, but after 1.25 hrs., I was sweating like a pig, my legs are pooped, and my heel doesn't feel like it was stressed at all.  He gave me an "okaaay"' look, but let's face it - 10 miles isn't going to make my run, but it could really PO my heel, and next weekend is just gonna be hard, no matter what.

A friend posted a pic on FB yesterday that someone took in Essex, CA (southeastern CA, outside San Berndardino) where the gas price for regular is $6.49.

Tet - we don't rake the  leaves here - DH just mows over them and mulches them into the backyard.  The front doesn't get that much, and they usually blow downhill, to the next door neighbor....

We are just over the peak leaf change, with mostly oranges, reds just getting over the best time, and browns of those already done.  We have had bright sun all week (where was this during the summer?), which has disappointed me.  I think that the leaves show their best color on cloudy days, not sunny.  Somehow the light on cloudy days really makes the phosphorescent colors pop.

No workout for me today.  We got home reasonably early (9am), but we have been so busy on weekends that there are a lot of homecare items that need doing, starting out with returning the rental car DH had since he was able to pick up his repaired car from the collision center.  Then on to laundry (I am on my 3rd load), picking up sticks in the backyard so DH can mow (a large trashcan full), then sweeping and mopping the stairs, hall, and kitchen, and dusting and vacuuming the family room.  I am hoping to have enough energy to clean the two bathrooms as well, and then will make a Devil's food cake for the week (good for DH's packed lunches), chicken salad, and spaghetti sauce for my lunches.  That will probably be all I have energy for, although we do need to hit the grocery for a couple of items.

                              How quickly the weekend goes....

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Beautiful day here.  Laundry on the line, raked some leaves, and mowed (mulched) the yard for the last time.  Unfortunately, 90%of the leaves are still on the tree but it was definitely time to put the mower away.

The dog and I have had 2 long, wonderful walks.  Now she's eyeing me because return to standard time has messed up her internal clock.  She's hungry and doesn't look like she will be able to hang on until supper time!  Seriously, she's several pounds overweight and could skip a couple days worth of food but that's not likely.

My husband is out on his bike and I'm due for some yoga plus the required hip hikes and clam shells.  Enjoy the winding down of the weekend everyone!
