It is better to fall short of a high mark than to reach a low one. (H. C. Payne)
Tallies to follow . . . . (honestly) . . . .
Dutchie - 65.8 kilometers. And in the words of Dutchie herself: "Not bad at all." Editor's Note: We want pics of the painting. No pressure or anything . . . .
Erika - 43.4 miles running, 4.4 miles walking. With a very nice trail race on Sunday. Good job!
Nono - 20 min slideboarding, 80 min strength/stretch/yoga, 20 mi running. Editor's Note: She found her kids and is now in liver recovery mode . . . .
pfriese -47.1 miles running, 3200 meters swimming. Editor's Question: Just how far is 3200 meters??
dg - 24.7 miles running, 14 min. biking, 12 min. stooopid ellipticalling, 2 1/2 hrs. strength training. Editor questioning that this qualifies as a cutback week. Well, maybe the biking and stoopid elliptical.
Evryday - 15 miles running, and a lot of blah, blah, blah . . . .
fatozzig - 13 road miles, 12 trail miles, 30 min cycling, 2 hrs core/strength. Fell short of the high mark this week.

Thanks, Leslie. Always gotta remember to reach just a little harder rather than settle for what's easy, right?

I obviously don't know how to set up my Garmin for fartleks/intervals. My 10-min warm up counted as a separate mile from the intervals, so I ended up doing 6 total. Hmmmm . . . . . .
Hi, all. Thanks again, Leslie, for being our organizer and for the quotes.
Monday - paddled for 2 hours
Tuesday - going swimming shortly (I'm good for about 35-40 minutes; 22-25 easy laps) and a leisurely walk on a beach tour is on the books for this evening
Wednesday - kayaking 2 hours, 1-1/2 hard against strong southerly winds; beach walk rained out
Thursday - FINALLY RAN!!!!! two measley 1/2-mile segements in the middle of a 4.5 mile walk, but it felt terrific
Friday - continuing in my role as the queen of over doing it, I rode 15.5 miles on my bike today; felt terrific during, completely wiped out ever since
Saturday - ran 1.5; walked 4.5 for a total of 6.0 miles moving over land under my own power; kayaked about 2 hours
Sunday - worn out from Friday and Saturday; thunderstorms all afternoon/evening, so rest

Eliz - I like quotes, can you tell? My two favorites have helped me through some really tough times over the last few years.
"I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself." (DH Lawrence)
Fully Alive
I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which came to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which came to me as blossom, goes on as fruit.
