Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly!!!

Holly - Yippee!
Did it but I could've done almost four of 'em in those days
it's taking as much time for two that it used to take
for almost four marathons and, unlike 71 year olds
Rick and Larry churning out four more quadzilla marathons
for their umpteeth times to get to their 456th and 1,720th or so
marathons this weekend, just two has somehow become a big deal
for me but well worth it for a rare visit to the 40/40 Club I'll relish for a long time.
Thank you.

* after three increasingly rainy marathon-and-beyond distances at Portland (10/9),
Carkeek (10/29) and the In-Unity-We-Run NYC Remembrance Marathon (11/5),
the light sprinkles at the start of Grandpa's Wishbone abated within the first mile
and didn't return until the last and the Seattle Marathon was dry all the way
until sprinkle in the last, sixth, hour that weren't even noticeable.
However, after a hot chocolate warm up at the finish,
I needed two space blankets over my head
to keep dry in the downpour
on the waY to the car.
very lucky.
