an amazing likeness
Welcome to October. By now, all the low grey light of dusk is gone for us evening runners, and the morning go-getters are in total blackness, but getting the bright horizon over the ocean off to the east as they turn to home and face the day. We're in full pumpkin and corn stalk here in the northeast corner, and the hunkering down has started -- driveways are full of piles of firewood to be stacked, snowblowers are replacing lawnmowers, and maples are headed to their yellow and red glory in the next few weeks.
Time to post those hard-earned, sweaty and muggy September miles, race results and running achievements.
I'll leave you this month with a photo from the roof of the northeast at the Caribou (Maine) marathon where endless blue sky touches to earth over rolling potato fields and little girls join mom & dad in powering through water stops.
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.
Hey milktruck, thanks for starting this and keeping the monthly mileage thread going.
203.1 miles for me for September, including a marathon (Equinox) with first in age group.
Thanks, Milktruck. You're making me nostalgic for New England.

Without ice cream there would be darkness and chaos.
217 for September! Not very fast but getting the runs done 😎
Trails are hard!
Thanks, MT. Finally finished writing down runs off the Garmin and entering them manually here. Still haven't gotten the full transition from Garmin to Express to Connect to RA functioning. Ah well, the glories of technology--so simple when it works.
anyway, whining over and 33.4 whopping miles for September.
Need a fast half for late fall. Then I need to actually train for it.
A little late for the month, but maybe appropriate given how little I ran last month.
110 miles for the month and 1473 for the year. 3 races, 10K at Point Pinole (2nd AG, 3rd OA), Tioga Pass 20K on a whim, Moonlight Run Half Marathon (2nd AG, 16th OA).

Light month, in terms of number of folks checking in, let's see if we can reverse that trend folks!
