"Champions are everywhere; all you need is to train them properly..." ~Arthur Lydiard
Ran the California International Marathon Dec 2.
Training was a 10 week base builder followed by Pfitz 18/55.
I hung with the 4:35 pace group until 19 miles, then negative split each of the remaining miles.
Final time 4:29, 43rd in my age group, and a 37 minute improvement over the last marathon I did.
Felt great.
Lisa11 - That has to feel good to finish that strong. Congratulations. I bet you passed some people who were doing the opposite of negative splits.
Congratulations, Lisa! I would love to know what it feels like to finish a marathon with such a strong finish.
Trails are hard!
Excellent!! Often wondered what it would be like to run away from a pace group. Certainly never experienced it myself
Need a fast half for late fall. Then I need to actually train for it.
